sounds like the New Yankees Stadium. I've been a life long Yankee fan since 1978 and to say the new Stadium is Corporate and concessions are over priced is an understatement. They tried to kick us out for rooting too loud when they were playing the Red Sox in the new stadium. I was 10 rows from the field and the security guard kept coming back to tell us to stop cursing and no one cuss word was uttered. It was weird! shhhh in your own stadium against your rival. #TrueStory
@edmondlau5117 жыл бұрын
Definitely. I think the newer stadiums are built with concert acoustics in mind whereas they didn't care with the old stadiums. The sound in the old stadiums would just bounce off the walls and amplify the sound and energy that went through the building. Boston Garden was just the sound but it was also the legendary floor.

I like what Pippen was saying at the end. Just because Jordan doesn't score 40 points doesn't mean he was "off" his game. @dbreiden830809 жыл бұрын
JSwanKilowJ I think some people to this day look at Scottie's numbers and because his points don't WOW you, they just think Jordan carried him. What they don't get is Scottie was the perfect player to win titles with Jordan. Scottie was one of the greatest and most versatile defenders of all time. He was a good rebounder, and while not a volume scorer he could do it, in a variety of ways. Scottie did not need the ball all time to score, if he needed that he and Jordan would not have clicked like they did as team-mates. Jordan needed an extremely well rounded, team oriented player to be his side-kick and that was Pippen.. Scottie could drop 25 on any night, but even if he only dropped 10, he could shut down the best offensive player on the other team and grab 10 boards.. Ask Jordan how valuable Scottie was, and he has never wavered on giving Scottie his due..
@JSwanKilowJ9 жыл бұрын
dbreiden83080 amen. you are EXACTLY right. some people just want to hate Pippen and discredit him so they can mythologize Jordan even more. Skip Bayless is probably the biggest perpetrator of this. his old senile ass is so deluded that he really believes Jordan did everything on his own. he has convinced himself that Scottie Pippen did nothing to contribute to the Bulls' success. and there are so many many others that are so caught up in Jordan's greatness that they fall into that pattern of thinking. they like to bring up how Scottie was inefficient and a poor scorer in the later half of the Bulls' run. but they conveniently forget that he was battling serious injuries from head to toe. his back injuries hindered his lateral movement and jumping ability. he had wrist injuries that effected his shooting, and he had ankle injuries that effected his elevation and explosiveness. when Jordan had injuries like that in the early 90s, he was inefficient as well. but they also conveniently forget that fact too. you just can't win with certain people. they want so desperately to believe Michael Jordan was this benevolent entity, a god among mortals that could decide outcomes with a wave of his hand. you can't get through to them, even with facts.

This 1993 ECF was the best playoff series of Pippen's career, but in no playoff run was Pippen the better player. There is nothing wrong with being the sidekick and that's what Pippen was. Basketball is a team game. Despite MJ's abilities, he didn't win any championships until he was on a well balanced team. Jordan needed someone to help with the scoring load while playing solid perimeter defense. That's Pippen. He also needed a low post defender and rebounder. That's Grant (and later Rodman). I love the fact that after Jordan's altercation with Doc Rivers he plays within the flow of the offense instead of trying to make it about himself: he comes up with the steal, PASSES it to Pippen and then SETS THE PICK to free up Pippen for his 3. Perfect blend of leadership and selflessness. Lebron doesn't quite have the leadership in the clutch (though hopefully that changes come this June) and Kobe doesn't have the selflessness. That play shows why Jordan is still the best.

The Knicks were a better team in 1993 than 1992. They were better defensively, offensively, and won more games. They had home court advantage in the East Playoffs in 1993, not so in 1992. They made it all the way to the Conference Finals in 93, while only getting to Semifinals in 92. My point is - Xavier McDaniel does not guarantee the Knicks winning over Chicago if NY stays with him as opposed to acquiring Charles Smith. In the final moments of game 5 of the ECF's in 1993, Smith got stopped by great defense on the part of the Bulls and the Knicks got stopped by a better team. Michael left for a couple of years and the door was wide open for the Knicks to win it. They didn't.

Which is the sad part. They blew the 94 Finals as the Spring of 94 as they said it here when the Rangers won, so we hoped the Knicks won Game 7 against the Rockets. Definitely do agree that 92-93 Knicks was the best Knick team of that decade.

I disagree. The Knicks took the Bulls to seven games in 1992 and they had play makers with McDaniels and Wilkins!

@YouthfulEquity These young kids in todays league dont even have the fundamentals down and want to be respected, such a shame. That is what made Jordan so spectacular to watch, he had the fundamentals mastered, and that is why he is the GOAT.

How I remember this. I was on a plane to SFO from ORD. When we got on the plane, I think it was toward the end of the third quarter. I asked the flight attendant to ask the captain to keep us updated on the score. She said many people have already asked that. 😂. The captain came on the PA and said I have bad news for some of you, there was a pause, Knicks fans. And of course, the Bulls won the game. When we were getting off the plane I think the captain for the updates. This was on America West and we were changing plans in Phoenix. The captain said “go Suns” and I told him “not this year.“ 😂😂

Scottie should have left jordan and the bulls in 95, find his own team, and become his own man. Pippen the true MVP of the chicago bulls

At that time the old Chicago Stadium was the LOUDEST stadium in the NBA. BIG home court advantage

Ball in the 90's and early00's was the prime time of NBA I can't for the life of me watch the shit thats put in front of the public today, it's too bad. Being a hardcore NHL fan first and foremost I grew up loving Bball as my second sport but to this day it puzzles me how it's gone so downhill.... BRING BACK TO GRIZZLIES TO VANCOUVER!

Yes the regular season is horrible, I'm not sure how it was back then. But they still play really good basketball in the playoffs now a days. Heat vs pacers was great as was heat vs spurs
@chitownref10 жыл бұрын
No way. Basketball's prime was the early to mid 80's through the mid 90's. The game and the player's basketball skill was starting to decline in the late 90's and just got worse through the 2000's. The NBA has been unwatchable for about 10-12 years now.

Dora Tim If you would have actually read what I said you would have noticed I said 80's to MID 90's. I then go on to say how the game and players really decline from the mid to late 90's thru today's unwatchable entertainmentball they play now.
@doratim55269 жыл бұрын
chitownref Players didnt decline from mid to late 90s lolll. Basketball is fine, you guys truly ovverrate 80s and 90s ball. Those times were fun sure but it wasnt best thing ever that cant be touched

I don't know why people say scotty pippen hid in those moments, all I saw was pippen here, pippen there, to me, one if not the best defender of his position ever, and one of the most complete players ever.
