Pippen was one of the two best players for about 2.5 years from beginning of 93-94 season to middle of 96. Bulls should win the series against New York if not for the worst call in the NBA history by referees in the final 2 seconds of game 5.

You know Steve Kerr tells Pippen thanks for saving my ass at the 9:05 mark lol. I can't believe Kerr made that bonehead move at the end of the 4th. He usually shoots over 85% at the foul line. You can tell there is a drop in talent level from the 90's to now. The game is also much more physical then than now with more relax rule changes. Scottie Pippen was one of the top 5 players in the league in his prime which was 93-98. Lebron James is the only player who is similar to Pippen and I believe Pippen is still better than him. James scores more points yes but Pippen has more of an offensive arsenal. Post game ,sky hook and mid range jumper. On defense there is no comparison as Pippen's reputation was built on defense though Lebron is no slouch.
@Maal74329 жыл бұрын

@nbastreet8275 Жыл бұрын
Bro said pippen is better than lebron💀
@ReekeMoyel Жыл бұрын
They aren't really the same kind of player. Lebron is mostly all about offense, in an era were defense is hobbled. Pippin is very good on offense, though certainly not "top guy" status, but on defense Lebron doesn't belong in the same category as Pippin. Throw Jordan into the mix, who was nearly as good as Pippin at defense and better than Lebron on offense, and that's why people laugh when it's claimed Lebron is better than Jordan. If Lebron had played the 96 Bulls, it would have been Pippin guarding him, and it would have been the worst night of Lebron's career. If Pippin was on Lebron's team, they would not have done as well as the 96 Bulls with Jordan.

But you forget that the Bulls went 8-2 before MJ came back. They took a while before they found their rhythm, so it should be no surprise they close out 13-4 even with MJ back.

Pippen played great in this game. i believe 94-95 was the best year he ever had. the bulls had lost catrwirght, paxson, scott williiams, horace grant, and jordan was retired still for the first 65 games. if pippen had to miss the first 65 games with jordan still retired, the bulls would've had one of the worst records in the nba would've been a lottery team. the bulls supporting cast around pippen was medicore at best they had no interior defense or rebounding at the power forward spot

They ended up losing Grant, Scott Williams and Bill Cartwright. Although Cartwright was pretty old by that time, he was still a solid, reliable center. That's a lot of rebounding and interior defense to lose.

Definitely one of the best Christmas night games in NBA history! As a Knick fan I was bummed about the loss but the truth is that the Knicks of 94-95 didn't have the same edge they had the prior three years. They fell to 12-12 with this loss, and though the team soon went on a run and finished the season with 55 wins, just two less than in the previous year when they made it to the Finals, it was pretty obvious something was missing, as was later proven in the playoffs and the crushing loss to the Pacers.
