It was my husband David and his brother who eventually won the car on this episode. Unfortunately, my husband passed away seven years later and I came across this by chance. I haven't seen this for a long time, so thank you for posting it.

+Julie Gray - That's sad, sorry to hear that. He threw a couple of cracking darts in the final! I've always wondered, when people won prizes like that on Bullseye what did they do, because they can't really share it. I presume your husband and his brother just sold the car and split the money?

That's so sad. How did he die when he seemed young? And what's his brother up to these days?

Bullseye is a prime example of why comedians make for the best gameshow presenters. The late great Jim Bowen is still funny more than 40 years later. This was essential Sunday teatime viewing back in the day. Some people knock the prizes but they were quite good for their time even though the IBA imposed limits on the value of prizes (more than the BBC). I certainly wouldn't have turned my nose up at a brand new Mini in 1982. Both contestants in most teams were actually good darts players but somebody had to answer the questions.

7:16 WAIT A MINUTE! Jim pointed to his head to assist the 'Headingley' answer! I demand this is investigated and charges are made.

Jim touching his head and holding his fingers up to give those woman a clue about their questions was disgraceful! And at the end of that first episode: "£110 and a Mini METRO"! "It's not a Swan. Very very close, but it's a breed of Hen" Sheesh! 🙄😂

Probably the 4:3 ratio aspect of the time. Half the surrounding board on the left of the matchplay dartboard is cut off. I did notice somebody moving at the left edge of the screen in a few instances series 2 and series 3, must have been Tony Green.

@@betaman7988 Plenty of wood effect or even pure wood on hifi's, VCR's and TV's in those days. Mahogany in particular. All TV's of the time had that thick black rim surrounding the screen. Perhaps we may have seen Tony Green standing at side of the oche had the rim been screen instead.
