Bully Theories - Why Gary Smith is Destined to Fail!

I have a theory about Gary and his plan to "take over the school." I believe at first his original goal for the year was in fact to take over the school with both Jimmy as the muscle and Pete as the face, (He probably meant for Pete to become Head Boy so that Gary could bully and control him.) but there's a moment when everything changes. During the beginning cut scene of "A little Help" Jimmy and Gary have a very interesting confrontation. After his constant teasing of Pete Jimmy tells him to "Just knock it off Gary." To which Gary replies "Oh I'm sorry I didn't realize I was in the girls dorm, silly me!" Then Jimmy says the words that causes the outcome of the entire game. "Just shut up man YOU'RE BORING." Watch the scene and see how Gary is shocked for a second, and nearly attacks Jimmy in rage, but backs off quickly before it escalates. A narcissist like Gary would've taken great offense to that. That's when his plan changes. He uses the ruling the school idea to trick others into helping him and furthering his plans, but his ultimate goal was to cause a riot and land all blame on Jimmy. The school's biggest trouble maker and bully. Which he created himself through careful manipulation of events and rumors throughout the entire game.

He is just great antogonist and I never saw in any other games some schoolboy, who can make all school and even prefects go crazy and try to fight each other. It's still the secret for me, how Gary could tie Dr. Crabblesnitch. Every person, who listen Gary, starts hate Jimmy. Gary even don't have any team or friends to help him, he did it by himself. But, I guess, if he just could take pills, he still could be a friend for Jimmy. And maybe this idea about "Take over the school!" didn't even exist. Who knows...

just wanted to add something that i noticed during the mission "Slingshot", in the cutscene Gary begins to test his manipulation and control over Jimmy by telling him that Pete called him dumb, Jimmy didn't even thought about it and got angry at Pete, at that moment Garry knew Jimmy is easy to manipulate and continued instigating just for fun, the moment Pete notices and tries to call his bs out Gary kick him in the balls to make him stop talking because he knew he could control Jimmy. From that point Gary saw Jimmy as inferior to him because he was easy to manipulate, but he was envious of his brawn and angry at his tough guy attitude, so he knew he had to put Jimmy in his place by making him fight the strongest guy in school, but even before that happens he insults Jimmy intelligence many times because he doesn't respect people that can't see through him. When Jimmy defeated Russel Gary knew that he couldn't use just muscles to beat Jimmy, nothing could stop him from taking over all the other factions and he couldn't stand the idea of Jimmy having his way, he's the new kid, easy to manipulate and don't bother planning or thinking about his next move, he just beats everyone and everyone respects and fears him for it, for a narcissistic and overthinker guy like Gary, Jimmy is his worst nightmare. Gary doesn't care about taking over the school, he doesn't care about the respect of anyone or the consequences of his actions, he just want to see Jimmy fail and make everyone hate him, and by the end of the game he's euphoric because he won, he proved to Jimmy that his methods were superior to his brawn, so even if he gets beaten in the end i'm pretty sure that from his perspective he still won and it was worth it, he manipulated everyone and defeated his nemesis the exact way he wanted, for a narcissistic guy like him this is the ultimate victory.

Gary's plan was perfect if we analyzed the situation carefully: - He managed to turn all the students and even the principal against Jimmy - He managed to become head of the school monitors and told the principal who was responsible for the graffiti in the city hall. What failed was that he didn't expect Jimmy to join the troublemakers and Russell. That's what caused his downfall.

It's obvious that when Jimmy and Gary first met, Gary was only knowing that Jimmy is angry and aggressive. Later on the mission "this is your school" Gary showed Jimmy the cliques in the school, Gary paid an attention of how Jimmy would react, Jimmy's obviously angry and acting tough that saying he's not afraid of the cliques. The twist is, I thought Gary watches him fighting the bullies in the mission 'the setup' (i bet somehow Gary was involved in 'the setup' mission, because he later knows that Jimmy got a new slingshot at the mission 'slingshot'... then again he knew how strong Jimmy is after beating the bullies, and would reveal he has a plan to take over the school in the mission 'slingshot' , and also Gary did involved in 'the setup' because he wanted to test Jimmy's strength , just to know how capable Jimmy is to take over the school)

I have plans for Red Dead 2 stuff so I'm not too worried about being entirely focused on Bully. As much as I love it, it's not something anyone can keep up forever, and the longer Bully goes without a sequel, the more chance of it fading into obscurity, and if I only do Bully stuff then my channel will probably fall. Red Dead 2 should provide a breath of fresh air to my channel. Not abandoning Bully entirely of course, but it's all about trying new things and trying to keep fresh.
