There are actually a ton of Preludes in Russia. In Moscow, where I live, there used to be at least five or six Preludes with the J-swap. And I know of a few more in other regions as well. As for Novosibirsk (where Garage 54 is from), people LOVE right hand drive JDM cars in that region. And the further east you go - the higher the concentration of JDM cars. To the point where in the Far East (Vladivostok) a good 70 percent of cars are JDM, which is in no small part due to Japan basically being within swimming distance.

@Reman19755 жыл бұрын
They should try baking soda and superglue. You paint on the glue, Then sprinkle it with baking soda. Then add more glue, and again with the baking soda. Keep going until you're ALMOST up to the surface level you want, Then skim it with a little filler. The superglue goes off in seconds once the baking soda hits it, and it sets into something that's hard as hell, so you wouldn't want to have to sand it flat. But it's a useful trick because you can build it up around the edges of a hole in plastic really quickly to close the hole up and give yourself a rock solid base to skim filler over.
@random_ostrich5 жыл бұрын
Or you could just use body filler or buy another bumper
@Reman19755 жыл бұрын
@@random_ostrich Normal body filler doesn't tend to last too long in a plastic bumper because the flexing usually causes it to crack under the paint before a scab of it falls off. The baking soda and superglue stays stuck to the plastic better and is a more rigid base for a thinner skim of filler. Sometimes the bumpers for an older car are rare and hard/expensive to get hold of, So fixing the damaged original may be your only option. Also, If you've got a grey import that was never originally sold in your country it may be near as damn it impossible to get replacment bodywork without a 2 to 3 month wait and a huge shipping bill.

Noodles can work, but the videos of noodle repairs are shortened greatly. As far as effectiveness and end result, it is far better (and even cheaper) to use baby powder, corn starch, or baking soda/baking powder with super glue. For wood repairs and other plastic repairs, saw dust or old coffee grounds (dried) can be used with super glue as well.
@sr2127875 жыл бұрын
It works on holes, not dents.
@mrmustache87355 жыл бұрын
Yeah the whole point is to stick the noodles into the hole to plug it up. Dents won't work haha
@olivialambert41243 жыл бұрын
They use superglue and baking soda to fix aircraft and propeller blades sometimes. The theory is the same. The baking soda (or noodles) has a very large surface area so it dries rapidly producing a lot of heat (sometimes enough to burn skin with baking soda). Then the combination of particles and glue is similar to cement or glass filled plastics - they produce a significantly stronger material than either on their own, and can be used to fill a surface like a hole in a propeller blade. Baking soda is a lot stronger and would be recommended, but noodles or flour or other small particles can legitimately be used if that is all one has to hand.
i'd probably grind the noodles to a fine dust, then mix them with an epoxy, Resin would probably be best - make a nice thixotropic agent, but if it has to be glue i'd use a 2 part epoxy
@MrWombatty4 жыл бұрын

Essentially same as using backing soda or wood dust as filler for CA clue, but soda being finer powder comparing to noodles its better option for filling. Though amount of CA clue you use with this makes it not wort the money, when you get better finish cheaper using plastic welding and body filler. Also as test try to repair rusted front shock mount that is only connected from one side with original steel and from two with two nail plates, some pop rivets, news paper and urethane foam, gluing news papers with urethane just like you would laminating fiberglass.. I really want to know how horrible danger i was, by driving that thing 500km out of necessity XD

That's made me think of a mate of mine who several years back actually made a pair of "Denim" front wings (fenders) and a bonnet (Hood) for his blue Mk1 VW Golf "Show car". He made molds from the original panels, Then epoxied an outer layer of thin denim fabric (That he'd had sown with a few lines of Levi's style orange double stitching) into the molds, He added another layer of Denim, A couple layers of woven Kevlar fabric for strength, Then a couple more layers of Denim on the inside so it looked like they were just made out of a single encapsulated layer of heavy weight Denim cloth. The interior was all blue Denim with orange stitching too. It looked really nice when it was all finished, But it was a bit over the top for my taste. He kept it like that for a couple of years before reverting to metal panels one winter when he rebuilt the car with a super clean stripped out and wire tucked look for the following years show season.

If they powdered the noodles and made a paste using 2 part epoxy, mix it all up and right before they bog it they should add the hardener & give it a quick stir. As other people have mentioned, Baking Soda is great for plastic repairs.
