3:18 Jess Phillips there, somewhat undermining her argument by saying people have to "suffer the effects of migration" whilst at the same time saying it's fine. Incidentally, Jess "all tighten our belts" Philips voted to INCREASE MP salaries. Which I find odd for a socialist who makes between £100 - 300 per HOUR doing consultancy work and appearances. Not to mention; On 6 September 2016 she earned £25,625 for 80 hours work. 10 November 2016, received £25,625 advance for a book. Hours: no additional hours. 10 April 2017, received £25,625 advance payment for a book. Hours: no additional hours. That's on top of her Parliamentary salary of £66,365.12 and the party payroll of £20,000 - £25,000 But yeah... she's just like us. Pulling in that belt of hers. The point is that poorer areas and working class people are expected to bear the brunt of higher immigration. They are expected to make room, while the upperclass and the capitalists suffer naught. As is typical in any recession where the poor and working class suffer under austerity while the banks get billions in bailouts. Hardly fair. It is only fair that we all offer what we can to help people who are suffering, locally or abroad. That means the upper class and big business need to take on their fair share, which would alleviate the pressure on the working class.

Jess Phillips 🤣😂🤣😂 whatever happened to her, lol. Take a look at the real world, things are changing. We are a small, modest country which is full up. Its not a question of skin colour, religious background or culture....its simply the problem of too many bums on seats. We should take a share of the burden. But recognising a geo-economic saturation point does NOT make you a racist.

I have always had a great deal of admiration for the British people. Although I am Canadian, my ancestors came from England, Scotland, and Ireland. Having said all this, it makes me very sad to read the comments on this video. We must have compassion on those less fortunate than ourselves. God put the Syrians on the Earth the same as the British and the Canadians, and I think we need to try to help each other.

“It's always the poorest people in this country who have to suffer the effects of migration” Jess Phillips is talking nonesense again and the crony nodding in support is just as dishonest. MPs know that the reason why the poorest people are the ones who suffer most of the effects of migration is because they live in poor areas where the cost of living isn't so high. When refugees are given somewhere to live, in order to save taxpayers money they are also taken to places where the cost of living is low. Does she have a valid reason for complaining about this policy or is she just trying to rally support from people who like to become outraged without thinking?

We have millions of homeless people on our own streets, and we should be "looking at housing figures and tightening our belts", to help migrants?. I ask you, what person would feed their neighbour before their own family. No one. So why should Britain take in refugees when millions of our own people are in poverty or without a home!

The people in the audience demanding we do more. It’s now 2020, do you still stand by those demands? Or have you realised now that they weren’t refugees.

@mogznwaz4 жыл бұрын
Genuine refugees should be accepted but not permanently. They should go home when the war is over. Most of them are not refugees though, they are economic migrants. We are not obliged to give them all a 'better life', there are official channels for that
