I am blue-eyed, blond-hair & fair-skinned...and I have worked to erase my accent, one assumes by looking at me that I am American (I am an immigrant), but I am mixed & I have never used the race card. Well I don't know about you but the woman who criticised Laurence as being a "white privileged male" was far from respectful. Apologies in advance, this got pretty long. Yeah she probably was told it might be a terrible experience. Even so, it's one thing to intellectually understand something and a totally different thing to actually experience it, even if you've been mentally prepared. It's not cool how Meghan was treated by the British press and even if she was warned beforehand, why should she have to just accept it? Why should such unkind and in my opinion racist (whether consciously or unconsciously) treatment go unchallenged? Why shouldn't she stand up for herself? As a mixed race person of brown and white background brought up in the UK, it is clear to me that white middle aged people HATE when the word "racism" is used as it reminds them that it exists and they want to believe that the country has come a long way (which is has). As a male, I would never preach to a women about what child birth was like. I've never experienced it, just in the same way a middle aged white person probably hasn't experienced racism to tell me that it doesn't exist. Hi, I am messaging from Australia. Irrelevant about my take on Meghan from the beginning, I was genuinely happy for Harry and wished them all the best. I have never had a racist bone or this covert racist whatever that means. To me it seemed to hit a panicle of course with the Oprah interview however I do feel when she worked on the Vogue magazine, there were leaks back then about here being bossy and overbearing and consoling if I recall correctly. Please forgive me as I am very unwell and have been for 15 years and do a cognitive issue as the frontal part of my brain is effected. I rarely watch the news, read magazines etc. most things I listen to are positive romance Christian books; meditation; fantasy books and so on. I do this I do sleep walk and hallucinate. The more positive my life and what I listen to does help the state of calm I am in. I am explaining this as my fact may not be 100% correct however I do believe from what I do pick up I try to be fair, objective, see both sides of a situate and find the positive side of a situation. I did come from a senior management role with my career and worked 100 to 120 hours on average a week with large teams of people. I can pinpoint many incidents when Meghans popularity started to wan and it was generally when she did not know the camera was on her. She often snatched her hand out of Harrys or swing around with the sting eye, very quickly as if almost to say “know you place”. The invictis games when harry went to kiss her and she pulled away very sharply then realizing quickly she had to at least offer an olive branch and gave him her cheek. It’s in these moments the look of dejection on his face caused me concerns for Harry. I wont get into the pregnancy but many of my carers and friends said “thank god that’s over, I swear that was the longest pregnancy I have ever been through.” I never warmed to Meghan however in saying that, I never disliked her as I don’t know her. I was sad for Harrys dejected moments, which happened only the other day sadly. Harry is fragile in that relationship and it worries me. Hey! Who can’t help but have a soft spot for Harry. In the situation of racism or this covert racism as I spent my early years in Britain and my father was a Queens guard hence my softness for the Royal Family but to me it would be any family as I lost all of mine in 2009 leaving , me very ill and wheelchair bound. For all our silly fights which we always forgave each other, I had a few hairy moments from 2017 and on going where I have nearly lost my life a few times. I love my carers who are my new family and I love them dearly but when you are so ill and in despair in your late 40’s you know you are too young to die and all you want is your mum, husband and kids with you. It is gut reaching and worse when all you remember is ghost walking around you and you have no idea how long for, try 18 weeks. This is what breaks my heart about both sides of the Royals and the Markles because at the end of the day you only want to protect your children and see them happy. Not be trashed world wide because you are still hurting from your childhood and don’t know which mask you are wearing. I would hate to see the Brixton riots break out anywhere in Britain and the same anywhere in America or any other country. Maybe it is up to the press of all race and the educated and rational people who need to bring order to any country struggling. Maybe Harry and Meghan need a gag order put on them and educated at the disharmony they are causing and can potentially turn it around now before it goes too far, for I fear after listening to behavioral specialist; special forces; aurthors; Different arms from many divisions throughout the world enough threats are issued prior to this daily, all this has to do is trigger someone suffering PTSD with an obsession with one of them and decide with the right training to take out one of the parties. It is both men and women being trained in special forces nowadays and it is scary. My dad lost it after South Africa and my brother, mum and I were on the run for nearly 9 years. He could not have one of us he wanted all of us but he wanted us all dead because it was quieter there and calm. We just worked with an officer who is disability for PTSD and required what is called emergency STA - Time away from his family. Something happened on this trip and without realizing it and proberbly due to my own childhood and some of his actions he asked the carer who was to be a driver only to go up in the helicopter with him and a high speed boat ride. He wrote a very derogatory letter. Given his Specially trained what we call COS and the carer we chose so it would not cause issues in his marriage that he was potentially suicidal. He was special ops and the two most dangerous activities he asked the carer to go with him and blamed her for not giving him space, abused his COS, threatened suicide if he was not removed immediately (which the text was missed & call did not go through as it was a weekend), it dawned on me he was having an episode. In he subconscious removed himself from his wife and children; hid alcohol and medication but asked the carer on the two vehicles he could have tampered with or made explode, but something told him not to. After several therapy sessions he admitted this to his therapist. I am sharing this with the panel for many reasons. A negative can be neutraled or turned into a positive. I just wish that book would be banded by both governments and trust me they can. My thoughts are with you all. Stay strong and positive, pray for everyone and an impasse and eventually a reconciliation if possible. May you all have a wonder Christmas with much love and joy with your loved ones and family. Pls I believe there is racism everywhere, even in Britten but to say “the press has torn her to shreds bc they’re racist” is a huge blanket statement and NOT completely accurate. I’m sure some of it comes from ppl who are racist, or sexist or nationalist or genuinely from a place where ppl simply don’t trust her, or like something she’s said or done. It’s a multitude of reasons bombarding her but to say it’s ALL RACISM is ignorant and disrespectful to a nation of ppl.
