The typical fastfood chains are pretty bad, I only recommend them if you want something fast. If you buy a pizza it is best to go to a real italian for sure. But even with those you have many fake italians which give you an ok pizza but not a great pizza.

@@bunchartedTry to find one with a wood oven, authentic Italian ingredients and with only Italians working in the pizzeria. If there is a pizza Hawai or a pizza döner on the menu, you know it's not a real Italian pizzeria

That Domino's point did not do a good job (the dough almost looked raw-white). I noticed that you were wondering where all the dip sauces were. Sometimes (depending on where you order the pizza) you'll have an option for dip, but usually not. We are used to buy our own dips/sauces in the Netherlands, you will find them in many refrigerators at home here :) (try Gouda's Glorie Samurai Sauce)

for fast food pizza in the Netherlands, New York Pizza is better than Dominos. But there are so many great Italian pizza restaurants, you should try those. Ps Dominos in the US has way more sugar contents, which is not allowed in Europe

'Actie pizza' literally means 'action pizza', which means there's currently a discount (an action) that applies to that specific pizza. If you're window shopping and come accros the term 'aktie' in the window of the store, there are currently discount prices/sellout at that store.

I'm Italian so i make my own pizza, when in the netherlands you eat at the snackbar, a kroket with a patatje pinda. lol

Quality and especially consistency varies a lot between different Domino's shops and even within the same joint. My gf and I share your guilty pleasure and we often order there regardless of better pizza being available ;D but you just can't rely on them providing the same consistent taste/pizza. Just accept and consume them for what they are. It's no Italian pizza, but most of the time pretty enjoyable nonetheless :P

My pizza ratings go 1 ) a real and dedicated Italian pizza! Hot and fresh and.. Italian tasty delicious! Then there is a real big vacuum until the 2nd tier: The Turkish fast food pizza imposing to be an Italian pizza... Not to be mistaken with the Turkish pizzas like Lahmacun or Pide traditional made delicious specialties (If you find them , try them! It is different and delicious!) and then there is way way way below the Fast food American STYLE pizza's. Here in the Netherlands / Belgium there are many fastfood style pizza places that deliver fast food. They all feature food that lack dedication, care, love and pride of what they are making. It is relatively cheap, fast and usually delivered stomach fillers. - This MY opinion. Probably there are people that love these pizza's -

I've been to a couple places in Italy that served a simple pizza with tomato sauce and cheese when I'd order Margherita. Idk if I was just very lucky for every place to serve it like that or the US is being goofy again

Did ordered Domino's a few times years back, it wasn't that great at all, and since there is one nearby where i live now i decided to order 2 pizza's again... Now i know once again why i do not go Domino's for pizza. It has got nothing to with it, i even try to not approach it as pizza but that didn't work either. I do have to admit i am very biased though because of my italian heritage but i felt frankly a bit offended by these kind off food. Don't know how New York Pizza is these days, as i recalled it those where somewhat the best of the worst when it came to franchise pizza but that was well over 15 years ago.

I'm a golden member of New York Pizza which, funny enough, is a Dutch company. New York Pizza is far better than Domino's pizza. They also have an Italian option (thinner dough). BTW: Action pizza is a temporary "action" discount and/or a temporary flavor. The action pizza's at New York Pizza change about 4 or 5 times a year. I really like New York Pizza, but nothing compares to a real Italian pizza. (Not to be confused with the many Moroccan or Turkish "snackbars" that sell pizza's, those are often not authentic Italian pizza's.) Try a Calzone, that's a folded (wrapped?) pizza.

there's a time and a place for authentic pizza, and there's a time and a place for "fast food pizza" 😂 we actually order new york pizza whenever we want "fast food pizza". surprisingly, it tastes more like domino's pizza does in the US than domino's here!

Try a kebab store that sells pizzas in the Netherlands. Those usually are not too bad. (usually cheaper than the domino and way bigger)

The quality, taste and price of Dominos in the USA is lots better than in the Netherlands. Especially the $6.99 deal when you buy two items is great in the USA. The only thing I don’t like in the USA is the expectation of giving a good enough tip for delivery, even when you order over $25.00 worth of food for just yourself and already pay something like $4.50 for delivery…

yeah, the pricing here in the netherlands doesn’t quite match my perception of domino’s. in the US, one time they literally threw an entire extra pizza into our order for free as a surprise. it’s so cheap there.

@@buncharted I think thats because fast food in the US is more tailored to the lower class which is why its usually fairly cheap. In the Netherlands or most places in (western) europe, fast food is tailored to the middle-class which often reflects in the price.

Yeah Domino's here in NL to me is just a big meh. Their direct competitor here is called New York Pizza, maybe you could try them as well. Of those two the latter is the better one but honestly they're both in camp meh to me. I prefer a more Italian approach when it comes to pizza's, with a thin but crunchy crust, thin bottom and just a modest amount of sauce and toppings. There are great Italian pizzerias here but you really have to look out for them because the lot of pizza delivery places are just glorified shawarma/döner delivery joints.

Dominos to me is kinda ok, but never great. The problem for you guys probably is, that pizza is never like it is in the US. American pizza is just different. Like you said much more cheese and oil. In Europe we don’t use that much cheese and oil on a crust? Not a thing here. To make it oily you have to bake it in a pan. Oil in the pan. Dough on top. In Italy you’ll never ever see an oily pizza. When I make pizza at home, I bake it on a deeply oiled tray to make my New York wife happy.

The bigger Pizza joints are pretty bad in the Netherlands. I've never had a good pizza from them. The ones from New York pizza are more greasy, but I can't recommend them because they literally have nothing to do with real New York pizza and they aren't much better than Dominos. Just order from a local Italian restaurant. Turkish pizza is good too. :)

Having lived in The Netherland voor over 30 years and nu 36 jaren in The USA, I still ga terug frequently to bezoek my family there. (Yeah, I'm doing this dual language on purpose) As I explained my late wife: The food kan nooit and never be the same unless it was geimporteerd omdat the meats, the vegetables do not have the same smaak vanwege the difference in soil, grass, etc.

What the hell. Did they just get HAM on a vegan pizza? I mean I know Dominos in The Netherlands is bad but damn... First time when my local Dominos opened it took about 2,5 hours to get here and honestly the quality isn't good enough compared to a local pizza place down the street. I feel like my worst part about Dominos is the fact that I either get a whole lot of toppings or you get nothing at all. It's a real hit or miss. Tell me you got a refund for that vegan pizza at least?

First of all, I am not a fan of pizza, but when I would crave a pizza I would go to an Italian and for sure NOT to Domino's, which has a very very bad reputation by many people here in The Netherlands. Domino's pizza for me personally is like American Budweiser beer, they stole the name and it doesn't even come close to the ORIGINAL Budweiser, which is Czech!

Those pizza places only can do the typical types right. The rest is kinda crappy tbh. 5 cheese or something (from ny pizza flr example) but when there's bbq sauce going on top you lose me when you claim that it's a pizza. Also dominos is overpriced and super small. Kind of a scam compared to other places who sell pizza in The NL.

My whole family think that I make the best pizza. I ate the worst pizza in an Italian restaurant in cartagena Colombia. It was really a strange one with olmost no bottom. I don´t have any good experiences with Italian restaurants so I would prefer Domino´s over Italian restaurants every time.
