@@HammersChat Fulkrug has only been at the club for 5 minutes and then he got that injury so we haven't had the chance to see what he can do and I'm sure that he will do the job for us as long as we play to his strengths. Yes I would have loved top have seen Duran come but Villa were asking for way too many add on's ontop of his £40m fee for a player who was unproven so I'm not surprised that we walked away and got the German instead

I think it's fortified my doubts that he's the wrong player for us to a degree, however it's sounds like it's in Loppys hands as to how successful Fullkrug will be. Sounds like a solid geezer and good egg but Duran looks like he'd have been a much better fit. I find this transfer a bit baffling to be honest.

Duran has scored from the bench on 3 to 4 different times now , scored a worldy last game , he's got pace to burn and will be a massive hit for villa , there's absolutely no chance we'll get for £40 million now . Sullivan has his chances to get him , and failed miserably. Fulkrüg on the other hand hasn't done so well , and is now injured , somes up wh tbh

I personally think we need to go again on CF in the summer. I was saying it in another video; Tall, Rapid, Strong, Goal Scoring CF. If they dont tick all those boxes, they aint what we need. My concern is, when CFs dont have pace, is that opposition back 4's grow in confidence and start playing higher and higher up the pitch. I'm not one for modern day football terminology, but the term 'field tilt' i see get's banded about and to me it sounds relevant. When back lines dont fear a CFs pace, they start stepping higher and higher up because of lack of fear of one out ball. It happened to us all the time when we started Scamacca against decent quality PL sides and above. Teams would just gradually grow into the game. The average fan unfortunately just judge moments in games and don't assess how every player on the pitch effects the overall system. Like I said, I feel we need to revist CF in the summer. Tall, Rapid, Strong, Good Goal Scoring Record. Anyone without all those qualities isnt going to improve us. In my opinion, our best approach when both Antonio and Fulk are fit is to start Antonio, let him leave 60 odd minutes of work rate on the pitch and play Fulk for the final 30 minutes when the game opens up. When both are fit and available, I see that one role (CF) best being distributed between 2 people every game. In my opinion, the Fulk signing proved to me that Tim is not perfect. I think our window is proving to be slightly (and i do mean only slightly) overated. CF needs to be revisited in the summer in my opinion. Also dont rate the fans for crying over the idea of losing Orford in a Duran deal. Duran is dominating the league and Orford isnt getting in a match day squad. Thats the difference.

Hopefully the gaffer trys to play to Fullkrugs strengths and not hope Lops is waiting for Fullkrug to figure out a way to play in his system. I feel he will come good tbh, just as long as we can figure out our midfield and build up play. The overhaul isnt helping as integrating 5-6 1st team players is a process. If we are half way through the season and outside the top ten then we start to worry.

How Antonio gets the nod over fullkrug is baffling. Even before this interview. Antonio offers absolutely nothing. He is done. So how is it that Antonio, apart from the fulham game, as he was Injured, got chosen over fullkrug. That is what seriously worries me about this new manager.

I'm glad Geo showed some reservations towards the comments made about needing service etc. I have mine. I don't want my 31 year old CF suggesting to my 22 winger that he wants him to adjust his game towards his needs. That should be done at training, not in an introductory video. It's almost like getting your excuses in early. Our fans have a habit of defending centre forwards inadequacies with terms such as "Style of play" "Service".. suggestions of changing entire systems to suit the needs of one player. Pretty sure if I looked in these comments I'd start finding examples. 14 touches he managed against a second-string Bournemouth team. He has to work to get in this side. Scamacca had it handed to him because of fan pressure and it resulted in us being absolutely toothless upfront, in a relegation fight and then turning back to Antonio in the latter stages of the season to drag us back up the league and start the final. The PL and the Bundesliga are not the same. Evidence of this can be found by the way Kudus run through the entire Freiburg team on his own and they are supposed to be a decent side in that league.
