John Deere 2030 Stripping the Transmission Pump

In this video I strip the John Deere transmission pump and have a chat about how it works.

That was interesting Lance you know at one point there I thought he's going to smash that housing to pieces especially when you produce the metal hammer! Seriously though it was good to see what was inside and how it works, who ever designed it was a pretty smart bloke. Anyway Lance good videos nice and clear the picture, sound and lighting were very good hope you have a good break at the tractor show. John

Nice video Lance, your right about the pressure spec of the pump, the service manual states 125 to 135 psi at 2100 rpm tested from the shift cover

Interesting video on the gearbox inards, on a tractor without hi-lo but with hydraulic pto does it have this pump or is it just for the hi-lo? cheers, Derek

Hi i got a 2120 that im trying to figure out what is going on it has good hydraulic pressure the pto works good and so does the steering but the three point and rear remotes are slow and shudder when going up and down it has clean filters and fluid and suction screen what are the signs of a bad trans pump ?

Check for a rockshaft cylinder leak. Some times you can see it through the filer cap.
