BUNION SURGERY VLOG

So here is my bunion surgery vlog! I had the surgery nearly 3 weeks ago on my right foot. I'm 22 now and I first noticed I was getting a bunion when I was about 19, I got it done on the NHS and I wasn't waiting too long for a surgery date after I got referred. This video is 2 weeks post op and an update on my bunion recovery. This was the first time I've ever had general anaesthesia & I was SO nervous to go under, it made me feel very very very nauseous!

Had my surgery yesterday on my right foot. I feel really sick today think its with the general anaesthetic, slight burning coming from foot. Just haven’t been able to sleep and I also have a toddler and finding it stressful already. You video make me feel more positive so thank you 😊

Thank you for your video, I just had my bunion surgery done 4 weeks ago and after surgery I was so emotional like you! I think it was everything felt exhausting. I had both sides of my foot done so it will take longer to heal for me. I can walk without crutches now which is good xx

Because of distance learning I was able to have time for this surgery. I was a bit nervous but not scared. and let me tell you the first two weeks were the WORST. I cried the first few days. I didn’t eat the first few days either. Water was my best friend. My sister had to help me go to the bathroom the first few days. She would lift my leg and prop it up while I’d go to the bathroom. It took a while until I could put my foot down. When my toes accidentally moved I’d also jump in my sleep because it hurt. I’m on my sixth week and I still can’t walk, barely limp. Im so agitated easily because I’m tired of being unable to move. I’m supposed to get physical therapy. I hate it here ;( my foot is still swollen but less swollen so it has dry skin that peels. 🤔 but when I peel it under is nice softer skin. Hopefully I heal soon

Hi. I had bunionectomy on both feet at the same time in 2014 and I have no regrets at all. I just wanna inform those considering this procedure please stay on top of your prescription pain medication and you should be fine. 🙂👍

yes my toe was stiff! i had physio after my op to help with all of that! i still don’t have full movement like in my other foot but it takes around a year for it to fully heal x

They don't do anesthesia. They do a nerve block on your foot and put you to sleep naturally. There is no breathing tube or anything like that since you're breathing on your on.

I had trailers bunion on outside of my foot operated on. On mine they just cut or shaved the bone down It was done at 8 am this morning its now 1 am at night. So far no pain other than discomfort do to swelling. No sickness but I've only taken half of the oxy Tylenol pill so far. (make sure it is okay to cut pill before doing so!!!) I probably have a higher pain tolerance and pills are more effective on me do to never taking a pain killer before today. Took 2 800mg ibeprofen through out the day as well. Says take with food so i wont take those any more till in the morning. If any one has any questions I don't mind answering (keep in mind I am not even 24 hours after the surgery yet)

@@skully3812 yes its worth it. It did start to hurt later like after two days. You will be down for a month or so like not able to do anything and it really hurts for the first week but granted I also didn't take all my pain meds either so. But my feet feel way better now and my shoes fit better

You are very brave. I hope, that now is all better with you. Nowadays have women many problems with back muscles, legs and feet. Due to bad shoes, walking habits and pregnancy. Pls can i see your walking stereotypes like walking normal, then few steps on your heels, few steps on your toes and than make examination position with your back to the camera and lift up each foot to show your plantar region and knee flexibility, and than few times make flex and spread your toes in this examination position to check range of motion of your interphalangeal joints? It can help me with my physical anthropology research. Thx for you kindness.
