I read a really good tip to make sure you don't cut the quick. Cut the nail in 2 steps. You first place the clippers firmly on the nail where you want to clip and apply a little pressure. If you are too close to the quick, the bunny will let you know by pulling back their paw.

This is so helpful. I am a new bun owner. I tried to trim my bun’s nails a week ago and it didn’t go well. I couldn’t get her back paws done. I think the clipper you have with the light would be useful for white pawed bunnies like mine. I need to try the mesh bag trick too because I tried with a little bit of water to push back the fur but it didn’t help.

The first 2 times I tried cutting a rabbits claws, I made them bleed, after that I never went near a bunny with a pair of clippers ever again. I just get the vet to do it as I don't like causing them unnecessary pain and discomfort. Anyway I used to snuggle up to my bunny in bed and fall asleep with her. My rabbit was my best friend, not just a pet. I felt so bad when I cut my bunnies, but for some reason they didn't take it personally, clever rabbits! My rabbit had big loving brown eyes and she used to lick the teers off my face when I was crying. I used to grow her food in the green house and feed them to her when they were at their best! I made my 2nd bunny fat I gave her so many treats, she just ate everything I gave her!!!! Unfortunately she died of GS! I was unable to get her the help due to unfortunate circumstances. Rabbits can be very loyal loving pets and they are warm soft and fluffy just like guinea pigs!

Haha the table we had is a bit big so there are lots of places to run around & things to knock over. So lap is a lot easier for ours. :)

I wish my rabbit would do that! I can't even pick him up without him going literally insane trying to get away. He's very sweet and cute if I just let him come up next to me and pet him and he'll even briefly step up into my lap for a few seconds. But if I try to handle him or pick him up, he just gets terrified :(.

Try just lifting up your rabbit's front paws. It will be a long process, but starting with just lifting up both front paws is a start nonetheless.

Just a technical note. Front paws on bunnies are called "Piddies" Back paws are called "Hoofies" Your chair is called "IKEA" I still have two myself that are 16 years old and holding up great for bunny mani-pedi's" :)

Bunny shouldn't be flip over onto their back, it's called trancing. Trancing the bunny can cause their heart and respiratory rates to increase, and the stress of this can be fatal. Yes, having her on my lap this way is slower, but I rather do it slowly than traumatizing her. It's not because of filming that I trim her nail like that.
