Damn! This is the first video I've seen where NOTHING is done to the van. No installation, no walls, etc. This makes me very happy. One can be happy without all that. Thank you.

Yes definitely do-able!!! I do suggest without insulation however to travel more so with the weather. That is what I typically do to keep from being in extremes one way or another. And it works really well!!! I will be doing a few changes in the future to make the van more four season ready for some things I want to do personally, but no rush on those as long as it truly can function without :)

I love to see it, too; however, I'm old school and know that men don't change, especially when choosing a mate. A man will marry someone close to his age when he's young, but the older he gets, his wife's preference stays the same or moves slightly depending on his age. A woman is different; she only dates men a few years younger or older than herself. I want these ladies to take advantage of the opportunity to meet and date men of their choice while still young. Otherwise, we will have a whole lot of angry Spensers and side chicks.

That blue is so pretty. You have a nice simple build that anyone can afford and build.
@BunnyPlaysHere3 жыл бұрын
I looked the bright color it makes me smile when I get up in the morning :). great way to start the day! The basics of the build are very attainable, then I think what is great about doing it the way I am is that it allows you to add things of value to you as an individual. For example the Jackery has various sizes so even if not everyone needs the big guy like I have they have other options which are great, same thing with the fridge, there are larger and smaller options. Knowing your space and need is a huge asset which is definitely why I wanted to do it this way.
@rrhopewell3 жыл бұрын
@@BunnyPlaysHere that makes so much sense. How did you deside on a Nissan.
@BunnyPlaysHere3 жыл бұрын
@@rrhopewell I was driving a Nissan Versa before moving into the van as my adventure vehicle. A couple things I really liked about the car were the fuel economy and also the 100K warranty. When I started looking into vans I saw the sticker info about fuel economy and then started reading more personal reviews and found that the van has similar performance to the car so that was a huge incentive. I also was looking to potentially eventually have the option of building it. The walls of the NV are much more square and the wheel wells are much more narrow on the body than other similar small vans, if I were to build it these two factors would allow me the most amount of working space.

What I did was buy solar outdoor string lights, I screwed the little panel outside and ran the wire inside and wrapped the lights around, I've got my gaming desk in there with 2 normal desk lamps, I don't plug them in and cut the cord off, I just like the look of them, I put 2 rechargeable light bulbs, yup they sell chargeable light bulbs u can still screw into normal sockets. Another idea I did that I have yet to see anyone doing is buying flexable curtain rails, same as hospitals have, come in 8, 12, 20 or 30 foot rolls of rail, they are bendable to any shape and come with a ton of rollers you hang curtains off of. I cut the rail to what length u need and hang it from the ceiling, I used it for the front privacy curtain and all the windows. Other thing I did was use Ikea bed rails to put my bed on, they screw right to the walls, they extend to whatever width your vehicle is then u use regular wood slats to put ur bed on, good thing with that is there is nothing touching the ground so the entire underside of your bed is All storage. I didn't come up with that idea myself I seen it on another video, just look up "IKEA bed rails in a camper van" there's a bunch of videos. I just moved into it this week, I now live in the parking lot at work where I'm a truck driver in Detroit....screw paying rent for something u don't own. Like they said at the g20 summit last year 'you'll owe nothing and be happy" by 2030. They are getting everyone to be renters and not own any property

Your personality and your enthusiasm is what made me stop 2 watch your vid. I will never be able 2 live n small van 🚐 or tiny home🚌 'cuz I don't know any thing about batteries chargers that's controlled and solar powers with cell phone!! 🌄🥅🤳 And how 2 install comfort needs such as 🤷 sink, stove, or refridge and what fuel 2 hook them up 2. how 2 install cabinets 2 store dishes and food.🥖🧀🥚🥓🍶 Also I could never deal without a easy accessible toilet inside🚽🧻 my van, trailer or tiny home. But u caught my eyes 👀 with your having bought a van and putting a cot n it and so forth other things without screws or glues 2 connect it 2 inside van. 1 of the things that caught my attention most definitely. And so far u have been absolutely positive and right 2 found better ways 2 adjust and make the arrangement even more easier 4 those of us that are not DIY educated! 👩🏽🔧
@BunnyPlaysHere3 жыл бұрын
I am much like yourself not DIY educated.. everything I am doing has been through research and trial and error. I started out traveling with a car and tent to see the US one state at a time and enjoy all that it has to offer. I have loved it so much that I wanted to increase my abilities but couldn't afford a huge RV and didn't really want one because of the amount of gas it consumes and the size itself was daunting. The small van can have everything you want in it if you are creative and so that is what I have been doing. I have a toilet, a shower, a bed, fridge and power and so with those basics I can figure it all out. I do have some fun videos coming up though that will be fun to share how you can capitalize on your small space with a few improvements to the outdoor space to make it feel much more homey and large!! Coming very soon.... :) Thanks for stopping by initially to check out the video and your kind words about my personality!! I try to keep it as true to myself as possible :). @BunnyPlaysHere3 жыл бұрын
@@JAGreen-lj9zi Yes I do have a portable toilet!!! That was a HUGE must for some of places I camp, last year I noticed many campgrounds did not have toilets open as a part of their prevention since park staff would not be able to clean them after each guest, so a lot of places were requiring you to have continued units so I invested in one. I currently have a cubby I store it in when in transit under my bed. It is a chemical based toilet so there are no smells and it flushes like a regular toilet and can be dumped like an RV toilet. That makes it very convenient... I mentioned this in my initial no build van build video but will also be deep diving into toilet and showers on another future video.

@BunnyPlaysHere3 жыл бұрын
Thank you!! The bedding has really brought a smile to my face waking up each morning to something brighter, it is amazing how something as silly as a color can kick start your mood each morning :). The Jackery has more than proved itself already, I spent the past few days trying several new things just to see if I could run it down and no matter what I plugged in I couldn't shake its power supply, I was shocked, best investment by far! I know to most a fridge sounds silly but when you haven't had one in years while traveling and made sacrifices as a result, just being able to have things like real coffee creamer, eggs and fresh veggies without worry of melting or getting wet from ice is such a relief. Loving it so far, but more to come soon on that :)

Looks awesome! The fridge was a game changer for me...then after getting the fridge I went with a permanent solar and battery to keep the fridge running. At the same time I put a maxxair fan in....and believe it or not the fan made a huge difference on how hard the fridge worked. The fan would push the hot air out of the van much faster which allows the fridge to cycle less which saves on battery power. I have one of those portable folding solar panels as well....they work great for when you park in the shade but still want solar power by placing it out in the sun🌞 Its all fun trying to figure out what works and what not...I wished I got into this van stuff much sooner..lol

A roof rack mounted static panel is in the future for me. But all in due time. Purchasing the folding panel made it a little less of a rush on that for the time being so I can get things lined out how I would like them beforehand. I also want to add a fan but there are somany different ones being able to research is something I do to the point of running into the ground...lol... All of those things will likely happen back to back somewhere down the line. The fridge though!!! Being able to have cold fresh food without it having the issue of being soggy.. SO NICE

Absolutely!! I have contemplated many designs throughout this, including a bed which expands, but reality is for me at least that I don't want to have to do a lot just to go to bed each night, so a fixed bed was the best solution for that. Since I travel solo, I tried the cot to see how comfortable it would be long term to have a limited space and found it to have just enough room. I likely will eventually build a solid bed the same size as a result of being able to test this out like I have.

I don't know that I have mentioned this but for work I travel with my RV to places and then set up for a few weeks to months at a time depending on the contract. I usually don't have a lot of cross over with the van dwellers when it comes to how they build their rigs because my RV is already prebuilt but some of the things we use are the same. You have some good ideas when it comes to the space and things that I could actually find helpful also. Solar lights are always useful and they do have them for emergencies also if you don't have any of those yet. The carbon monoxide detector I would say is a must, a buddy of mine was saved by his last year when his heater malfunctioned while he was sleeping. Keep it up and looking forward to more of your progress.
@BunnyPlaysHere3 жыл бұрын
Oh wow, glad your buddy is ok... exactly why I wanted to make sure to have one and while I don't fully understand how it works I would rather have it than not and be safe!!
@brinselyseven55303 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the no build options. We are renting a van to disperse camp this summer and a lot of those tips really come in handy when we can’t make permanent changes to the van. Also, yes, your CO detector works best lower to the ground than where you would typically place a smoke detector. Carbon Monoxide is heavier than smoke and travels closer to the ground. This is at least the case for residential properties, but why not play it just as safe in your van? You deserve that piece of mind.
@brinselyseven55303 жыл бұрын
*Lol, peace of mind. Gross.

I'm confused, CO is some gas that is created when a fuel is not totally burned. Why would there be created CO while sleeping? What you breath out is CO2.
@brinselyseven55303 жыл бұрын
@@marcbruneel1858 It's true, CO comes from sources of gas and it is colorless and scentless. You wouldn't know it was leaking while you slept with windows and doors closed. as most people do. A lack of ventilation makes it worse. The CO detector will pick that up. People do confuse CO and CO2, often.

@sidekick967343 жыл бұрын
@@BunnyPlaysHere my setup was almost identical to yours except I built a raised wooden floor that had different sections for storage. I used wood 2x4s turned on their sides to get a 4 inch rise covered with plywood. Then I cut doors on the plywood to access folding chairs, toiletries, clothes, etc... A butane stove will fit perfect underneath. ;) Also, raising the floor will place your bed higher which in my case caused my bed to match the height of the passenger seat when the backrest is folded flat. Folding the seat forward like that means you can move your mattress all the way up to the dashboard and watch the stars at night before you sleep. You should add roof racks and trailer hitch. Wrap bungee cords around the roof rack bars to prevent them from vibrating from the wind when you drive. My roof racks used to start humming at speeds over 40mph but I read in a forum that wrapping a bungee cord will break the aerodynamics of the bars and stop them from humming. 😉

@@BunnyPlaysHere cut plastic screen material in the shape of your driver and passenger windows. Using a hot glue gun attach small neodymium magnets to the edges of the screen material. Whenever I first started looking for videos it was pretty limited on the amount of videos that were actually out there with our small space. So I knew that I had to share more about the van it’s self. Previously I drove around in a car and a tent camped everywhere. In doing so I really enjoyed the journey and with sometimes highlight some of the campgrounds I would stay up but not so much how I would do things in my tent. There are tons of people who show that and I didn’t feel the need to. But having this outlet to share how I function in my small space has really created a lot of really cool conversations. And I met so many people as a result. So I’m super happy that you found my channel and we connected!!
