Meg, Love your videos. Do you recommend a newer 10U team use the 1B or keep her back? Pitcher athletic buy young. I only ask because it limits the number of moving parts at this 10U level. TY for any advice

Honestly, you could try both ways and see what works for your girls! I feel after a couple times of each, you’ll get a good idea of what does or doesn’t work. I was never a fan of 1st baseman staying back but that’s me!

Why does 3rd baseman cover 3rd base if nobody is on base? They have plenty of time to get back to the base if they don't field the ball.

Hey Meg....question...what do you do with players that are good batting practice hitters but not so good in a live game

Make sure they are seeing a lot of live pitching in practice. Even if the pitchers are doing a workout, let the hitters stand in and just watch the pitches.

Just curious, with a runner on first why can’t the left fielder cover 3rd base?

It depends on how deep they are playing... We have either the 3B or P cover third depending on who fields the bunt and use the LF as a backup.... If one of those girls doesn't cover then the LF can cover....

Catcher is usually closer

This is based off higher level of play. They will play the outfield much deeper than 10/12/14U play.
