looove Koontz. Shadowfires is my favourite. I loved The Door to December and Tick Tock, too.

Good collection of Koontz books. Lightening. Bad Place and Watchers are among my top 5. Haven't read House of Thunder. I'll have a look in the local library. I'm in the middle of Strangers at the moment. Excellent read. Brilliantly written. An author id love to see what you think of his material is Richard Laymon

I agree. Watchers should be the first novel a someone should read if they never read a Dean Koontz novel. I loved that book. That was the first book I read and ever since then I've been a big fan of Dean Koontz.

Well, depends on what kind of book you like. With Koontz, you'll sometimes find horror, sci-fi, a mix of both. Suspense is always a give in with Koontz, but to me his best books horror-wise are: The Taking, as welll as Winter Moon if you haven't read it yet. Midnight is a pretty creepy sci-fi book with a scary beginning. If you like more thriller type books with no supernatural, then Intensity is excellent, as well as Velocity and Mr. Murder. My favorite of his all time is The Bad Place

I started working my way through Koontz's books a couple years ago. The first book I ever read was Watchers. Very good book. So far my favorites would have to be From the Corner of His Eye and False Memory.

It is amazing! I have 37 books from him, every book which was translated in Czech. But it is not enough, I want more and more books from Dean Koontz, he is my favourite author. My English is not good enough so I can read his books in english, but I hope some day... Yesterday I finished "In the Moonlight", the last book which was translated. And next book will be in April! :(

Dean Koontz has motivated me back into reading. :) His way of writing is most intriguing. I have not read one single book from him, nevertheless I am reading From the Corner of His Eye at the moment. Can't stop flipping them pages! Next one would most probably be Watchers. After that one, I have no clue what so ever, but certainly I will keep reading books from this outstanding author named Dean Koontz. Just saying...Greetings! :D

Man, just about all of your books are in excellent condition. Did you buy 2 copies when all of those first came out? It's rare to see those old paperbacks in such good shape. Nice collection!

My first Koontz was shadowfires and my last was Intensity. I lost interest in him after that. But my all time faves are Lightning, Midnight, Winter Moon, Phantoms, Strangers and The Bad Place.

I have Winter Moon and Tick Tock by Koontz and have only read Tick Tock so far. I found it enjoyable but to be honest I wasn't blown away. Of course I want to give him another go, though, so which book/s of his would you receommend to a complete newcomer, as it were? :) Thanks. -Sarah

@BurgundysFinest You really shouldn't have to warm up to a book the second time. If I were to judge Koontz on his recent stuff form the past four years, I'd say he's a miserable writer, with pancake-flat characters and church-boring plots. Then I got wind of some earlier stuff that's a lot darker. I read the first chapter of Lightning in a Barnes and Nobles and I will definately be buying that and his other works from the 80s.
