Why does this feel like future music that is forever unreachable? Like some dystopian fever dream

@@danielmbc Your answer is the political sided one. Although I am concernt about the difficult separation between both social aspects, I think that the comment has it's sense of an aesthethic question. Totally agree with you and Fisher. The jungle movement and the post-punk scene, plus the hip hop (etc) appeared as a doom enlightnment of what was misunderstood in the 70s and the 80s, maybe because of the material conditions, partly. But there's an intuitive pulse in me that makes me feel the need to say that there's a creative lack separated of the objetive-economical basis. What i mean can be resumed in this: how difficult is to do a 'new', or contemporáry jungle or breakbeat. A contemporáry Dub. It has its politoco-economical explanations, of course. But i think that Those are not fullfilling the question as to resolve it clear. I refer to what aura makes, to how big pieces affect. To its rareness, weirdness that makes em eerie and familiar at the same time.

That's amazing how Cartoon Network and Crunchyroll know who Burial are! I would've loved to hear this in the background of something or some promotion on Cartoon Network or something. That sounds fantastic!

Future music for the jilted generation of the dark dub culture. This guy is just so far out there, he can't be touched. Unique. The best music floating for a long time.

All I know is that no other album encapsulates my life in ( not so much Britain as a whole but ) London better than this one ... ( this might sound pompous ) my nocturnal , introspective space in particular . A milestone in music , this is .

I concur. Having never visited London (or Britain), I imagine this is exactly what it sounds like.

burial defines the beginning of a new unpredictable cycle in music with a cyberpunk-esque atmosphere without the hauntological clichés going against any cheap tricks of the fall of capitalism and uses only pure originality on each second of his eerie yet hopeful pieces.

What a monster of a track, first time listening to a Burial project properly. I was introduced to Burial via a music review of The Weeknd’s Trilogy album a few years ago. The music critic mentioned that the album had some Burial influences (I know that Illangelo is a fan of Burial from his Soundcloud) and so I now I’m here. This is amazing lol.

Burial's debut album is as good as Untrue and it doesn't get the love it deserves. It dives through darker moods, but it's equally pure and emotional.

Folks were going bananas over the first album around the time of its release. It's a huge reason why Untrue was so hotly anticipated.
