This touched me so much. I cried so hard. My family hated me because I spoke up after 4 years of sexual abuse by my grandfather. No one believed me and my life was nothing but pain and suffering. I found Allah when I was 31 years old. Before Islam I was lost and just wanted to give up. Allah saved me. He brought me close to Him and changed my suffering into a beautiful life. This Khutbah is something everyone needs to hear. Thank you so much for your message. Keep doing Allah's work.

Recently, I had a trainig to attend. It was about self confidence, trust and mutual understanding. I couldn't participate because I lost those principles in my life. I was so embarressed. I asked Allah to help me but I just fail... . Nothing is going the way I wanted it to be. I'm sad.
@sulaimanwestbrook25805 жыл бұрын
@@Amazonproducts2100 Well then why didn't you attend it in the first place if it was for you to gain those principles (self confidence etc). Sadness is a part of what makes us human. No living soul is unfamiliar with it; even our Prophets faced multiple episodes of sadness. For example, Yaqub (AS) wept until he lost his vision and even our beloved Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) experienced bouts of sadness upon the loss of his wife and uncle. Hence, sadness is not a sign of weakness in any form. To experience sadness is to be human. Having strong faith, or Imaan, does not render a believer to be an exception to the emotion of sadness. Imaan does, however, equip us with the tools to combat depression and hopelessness. There is nothing wrong with accepting and acknowledging your grief. The strength of a believer is not that he remains strong by dwelling in denial or drowning in numbness, it is that he never loses hope despite all the pain and grief. That in essence is what true faith is.
@sulaimanwestbrook25805 жыл бұрын
No soul is burdened with more than it can bear Don’t ever forget that Allah (SWT) will never burden you with something that is beyond your capacity to deal with. Even on days when you feel as if you cannot take it anymore, know that you can survive it- for Allah (SWT) knows us better than we know ourselves and whatever trial you’re facing in your life, know that He also gives you the strength to handle that trial. With hardship comes ease Allah (SWT) promises His believer that “For indeed, with hardship [will be] ease” (Quran 94:5). Trust His word. Even if the suffering feels endless and you feel yourself getting exhausted from the weight of it all, do not lose hope- for there is ease and something even better waiting for you right around the corner. Nothing remains forever, not even hardships. And those believers who hold on to hope and faith in Allah (SWT) and adopt patience amidst their difficult times are then rewarded in ways human beings cannot even imagine. So remember, this too, shall pass. Allah (SWT) is in control, you are not Depression is majorly defined by a sense of hopelessness- in yourself and in the world around you. It is rooted in a sense of sheer helplessness where you feel like nothing is in your control. But that is the truth; nothing IS in your control. It is in Allah’s (SWT) control. Take a moment, embrace your lack of control over your circumstances, and know that the one in control is the best of planners and loves you more than you can imagine. Surrender your attempts to control your life, leave it up to Allah (SWT), and trust His plan for you. Sometimes, the human mind is unable to understand Allah’s (SWT) ultimate wisdom behind every single thing that happens to us. However, by accepting that Allah (SWT) is in control and welcoming His plans for us ultimately leads to the enrichment of our mind, body and soul. Do the best you can and leave the rest to Allah (SWT) Remind yourself that human responsibility is restricted within certain boundaries. All Allah (SWT) asks of us is that we fulfill our duties and do the best we can in our circumstances and leave the outcomes to Allah (SWT). We can only control our actions and duties, not the outcomes. Even Allah’s (SWT) prophets did not have control over their outcomes. A believer is rewarded based on the effort, not the result. Do not dwell on what is beyond your control and embrace Allah’s (SWT) magnificence. Do not make yourself anxious over the unknown outcomes. Play your role the best you can and leave the rest to Him. Be grateful for the blessings Allah (SWT) has bestowed you with During the hard times, we tend to forget the blessings we have around us and instead, we focus more on the things that are going wrong for us. It is human nature. We tend to get lost in circumstantial sources of grief and pain and forget to notice our source of blessings. Whenever you feel yourself being sucked into a dark phase of hopelessness and depression- remind yourself that you have a lot to be grateful for at the same time- whether it is a loving family, supportive friends, food in your belly every night before you sleep, a roof over your head and countless other things. Remind yourself that you are better off than so many other people who do not share our fortune in these domains. Keep a “count your blessings” journal if you want, where you can jot down a couple of things you are grateful for on a daily basis. It really does help in looking at the bright side of things!

I am almost 30 years old woman, and for the first time when I watched this Khutbah, I was not able to control myself, I layed down on the floor and weeping so bad, due to all the trumas that I have from my childhood, teenage and then adulthood from my own parents. Now it hass been almost two years that I am far from them and still receiving no love and care and all those & these behaviours are deeply caused me lots of lots of insecurities and self esteem issues that are killing me inside and out. Now, I am working on my trumas by going to therapists. May Allah forgive my parents and I and all the other parents who are abusive, and they actually don't realise their value of being parents that Allah blessed them.

I am so proud of Nouman Ali Khan, it takes a lot of courage for a public figure speaker from an Islamic background, to talk about such a sensitive subject. I listen to many lectures and this is the first Sheikh I have ever heard to focus on a subject, about the rights of children, especially young children and teenagers, who are sexually abused! A lot of our ‘Islamic leaders’ prefer not to dwell in such subjects. Thank you for being the voice of our silent children! Jazak’Allah khayran

This is so deep. It reminds me of my childhood. True, an abused child will start questioning themselves so much with questions that a child should not even be thinking about at that age and that it affects their mental health like self-esteem and such. I have severe anxiety and have a hard time looking people in the eye. I'm keeping positive and I will get better InsyaAllah.

This hits hard for me because as a child I was criticized about things I were doing wrong, if I did something wrong I'd be told "You're doing this wrong" so much that it's shaken my self-confidence to this day. If your child is doing something wrong be respectful and kind to them or if you point everything out and make them seem as if they can't do anything right it'll be a wound that never heals.

I am crying right now. I was just complaining to Allah about my father. He has has been drinking for the past 30-35 years. He is muslim... He has been abusive, been gas lighting us since we were young. I even once lost faith in God with the way he represented religion and justified all his wrong doings. He is an extremely bad husband..he has given us so much pain..and is giving till now...and I am at that point where I don't want to pick his calls..I want my parents to be separated..all my siblings are older..our own children will not be able to put with him..and I was feeling so guilty because as kids we are taught that parents always have the rights..and no matter what parents do, you are suppose to suffer..I was angry with Allah for not giving us kids rights..I had an extremely abusive parent who has caused me massive emotional problems..to the point where even I don't even want go get married. I just wish every person sees this lecture to understand that if you are a parent, it does not give the license to emotionally, physically abuse your child! Allah will not forgive u if you are doing that!

This so amazing so inspiring as it prouves how much of the treasures of quraan we ignore. I have never thought, not even once in my life that we can related to this aya " إذا الموؤودة سئلت" never had the brilliant idea that it can be seen the way oustad Nouman explained it. May Allah soubhanaho wa taala forgive us if we ever yelled at some one that is weaker then us, May him forgive us even more if we raised our voices over childern or family and be kinder to strangers then our own family. This has to be taught all over the world, this how our quran will bring us out of the death that we are living in, this way of interpreting the revelation and moving the beleivers to act upon it is capable of bring our oumah light back. And this is what a real khotba is. Thank you so much oustad Nouman, you are a true inspiration.

Subhanallah!!! This is amazing, Thank you Ustadah. About time a Muslim scholar address this issue as it is a major reality in so many people’s life and has not stopped in childhood but having a spiral effect into their adulthood. The worst part is when the adults involved are not taken to account for their actions. By the way, No One Deserve to be ABUSED! But I believe Allah Azzwa Jahala would take them to account on the day of Recompense and that in itself is a massive punishment for them. For all those who have been abused at some point in their childhood and are now going through it all over again by a spouse, siblings or their children, may Allah SWT grant you Nasra-huge help from this situation. Remember you are not alone an you don’t deserve it. Asalam alaikum warahmotullah wabarakatuh.❤️ May Allah grant Ustadah Nouman Al-Janah Firdausi for this contribution and may Allah heal all those who have experienced abuse in any form either as a child or and adult. Perfectly captured what goes on in the Desi families. The worst part is if you tell your Aunt or Uncles to help against your parents, they say everybody got it and it's the norm. Don't revolt against it. If somebody got abused and tortured, why is it necessary for others to go through the same thing? What kind of shitty person would allow the self-esteem and mental stability of others, their own nephews and nieces, be attacked just because they went through the same thing from their parents? Is it because it was done through their generations, that makes it right?! Surely they are in grave error and they will have to answer to Allah. The abusers, the ones who encouraged it, the ones who didn't help and even the ones who stayed silent. May Allah grant strength and Imaan to the Ummah, to the youth, to stand up for the right and be better Muslims. Aameen.

To everyone who was or is made to feel useless by their parents, know that there is healing and a way out. Various forms of therapy exist (not all require going to a therapist), there are self help books, self help online series that deal with trauma etc, therapists who post about action steps one can take on instagram (for free) which can be helpful if you dig around a bit on their feed. Seeking healing through whatever "therapy form" that works for you (even if its without going to a therapists office which i personally don't think is useful for everyone) in combination with tahajjud and recitation of Quran can do wonders. People who were put down a lot by their parents are traumatized so by dealing with it, one can heal and use the bad life experience as a fuel to do good. After healing, one can help others to get out of their trauma. And of course being trialed with such a severe trial puts one in a position where it is easier to have a close relationship with Allah. Nobody should think they are doomed to have a horrible life because of the oppression their parents put them through whether it was physical or emotional or both. Despair is from shaytan and hope is the right attitude of the believer.

Anyone reading this who has been abused please stop living in victimhood, these are test and trials from Allah to strengthen us so we can help others from being in similar situations, so we can recognize abuse others may be going through, it's time to help the helpless especially small children and animals. Whatever abuse happened Allah never forgets, keep that in mind and try your best to help others! Salam

People really need to see this . A lot of people actually do that . Like when rasulallah got abused by a lot of people he didn't victimise himself (saw) what he worked on is putting an end to the abuse and the wrongdoings . He (saw) was very merciful and forgiving , like just imagining instead if he chose to admonish the people for what they've done to him and chose to take revenge instead. Things would've been different. We should learn from him that . To accept what happened to us and chose to put an end to this .
