Thank you Spencer. Does look like it could be a good little home for someone. Thanks for doing the cleanup. At 6:34, that corner was in need of some safety cleaning. Appreciate your fixing it. 13:51, a backlog of excess growth was starting cause blockage of the storm water flow on the street. Another good area being fixed. At one point, you were removing grass extras from the sidewalk and looking along, you could see how much better it was making the footing for people needing the area for walking. A backlog does take a while to catch up. The street drains now will work, the sidewalk is safe for passers by, the front walk has been returned to use and the door access renewed with shrub trimming. You re-found the back patio. Cleared the utility site. All in all, a very good days renewal.
@marklar75512 жыл бұрын
Let's hope the storm sewer is big enough and clean. This like a poorly built road as far as drainage and transition is concerned and the age of the street suggests that the pipes aren't adequate to move the water. Keeping the street clean at the curb helps, but our taxes never seem to go to routine maintenance like curb repair, but emptying christy boxes, or storm drain clearing. Guess being proactive has never been our nations thing 👽

I heard your comment about Dawn dish soap and poison ivy. That stuff works wonders to get the oil off your skin. I use it too. Also, if you do get a rash, a remedy that will dry it up quickly is white shoe polish. Put white shoe polish on the rash and it will dry it up in 2-3 days. I learned that from my grandmother years ago.

Hi Spencer Another great reveal 👍 So sad to see these abandoned homes. It bothers me sometimes that there's continuously building of new homes and shopping centers. Instead of trying to repurpose those that exist. Thanks for taking the time to make sure they look as presentable as possible with nice manicured yards. I like the sidewalk and driveway reveals. I noticed unless a homeowner has a professional service do the yard most of the time the edging doesn't get done. To me that's what sets off the look of the yard. This was a very nice job, Spencer. I am always thrilled to see the before and after pictures. When I came to live in the USA from Cape Town, South Africa, I had never heard of Poison Ivy. Our property was horribly overgrown and eventually I quit my job in order to get working on it. One day, I was standing knee deep in thie Ivy and was pulling it out with my bare hands. My husband came home and told me I was standing in Poison Ivy. Well, I thought..."Big deal!". But I never got the ivy and I seem to be immune to it. Anyway, I cleaned up our property beautifully, but then I developed serious health problems and could not continue. Today the property is worse than it ever was when I first came here and I despair of ever seeing it look as nice as it was when I was working on it. I am always grateful when I see you working on needy people's yards. You can only appreciate how much, when you are there yourself. God bless you richly for what you do. (^_^)

In her backyard was orange, persimmon, pecan, walnut and cherry trees along with lemon and avocado bushes. She liked edible landscaping and she produced much of her own food. Shes been gone 20+ years now. My cousin drove by it last year and sent me pics. The people who bought it are horrible. Everything is overgrown or half dead. I don't think the even mow the back yard. It would break grans heart to see it now. She was so proud of her little house and yard. She would get up and do her hard work at 7 in the morning, before it would get to hot for her to work. Even in her 90's she was out there. The state its in now would gut her. I wish someone like this would go by and do something like this. For Gran's neighbors and her ghost.
