I love how you got precise with the measurements but not all the dice are the same ❤

It’s actually one of the things that drove me nuts for a while. I made another set, all exactly the same and changed the depth of the Penny hole to be just enough that they are flush with the surface. These old ones we just use around the yard for games

Great video. I made some this weekend. Hardest part is getting the template just right. I used 1/4" plywood with a 1/8" drill bit for the template and then scored the block with the 1/8" bit before stepping up to the 3/4" bit. This worked really well.
@BurkeMakesStuff3 жыл бұрын
On my second round, I marked out the template before rounding the dice edges. Helped a lot.

Hey Burke great video u were right the finished product of the dice did look amazing...everything was probably perfect nowww I love that u did something that was fun instead of like “u need this” that’s another thing I’ve noticed that in the beginning of every video u say “r u looking for a huge reclaimed wood clock” or something like that. U r on the right track with that but u shouldn’t say r u looking for exactly this and only this make it less specific and more general. That’s pretty much it with the critiqueing side except go into a littttle more detail about safety. But other than that it was a very nice vid

Hi there. I’ve watched your video a couple of times now. Trying to figure out what epoxy you used and how much of it. I’ve never worked with it before. I’ve been fiddling all week with these dice and painting them isn’t doing it for me. I tried the inlay thing as well but when I sand it, the stain comes off. Help...

lovezachrey it’s in the discretion box. Depending on if you’re on a computer or a phone. Either it’s a little arrow that has a drop down window, or it’s down a bit underneath people’s comments. Let me know tat you found it, or I could send it to you if you need.

I wonder if the weight of the pennies cause the number 1 to come up more than the number 6?
@BurkeMakesStuff4 жыл бұрын
I’d be lying if I said I’ve tested them, but it doesn’t seem to effect it. Especially since a penny only weighs 2.5 grams.
@GNU_Linux_for_good5 жыл бұрын
03:00 yeah - that depends.. whether your square [whatever brand] is tolerably square or not, shows after you tested it. Machinist squares are in general pretty darn good.

@@BurkeMakesStuff Let it be as square as possible! I think some manufacturers even guaranty a certain precision. And - if accurate enough - it's always worth the prize. Good luck ;-)

Like the pennies touch of bronze as well. But I’d want to grind off the faces if possible
@BurkeMakesStuff3 жыл бұрын
Absolutely possible with the right pennies. Pre 1968 I believe we’re 100% copper. New ones have the tiniest layer of copper on the outside and a fully zinc inside, so any sanding would remove the copper. If you do it, let me know, I’d love to see what that looks like!
