Patient confidentiality is only assumed when the name and closeup photo is revealed, as well as the injury or ailment. If it’s in public, and the photographer is a distance away there’s no law against it. She should have been more concerned with patient care not someone taking a video.

That was totally inappropriate of her to interfere with your recording. The job of EMS is patient care l, not policing recording.i understand she may have felt she was being an advocate for the patient, but being the recording police is not her role on the scene. That said, yes, you could have obscured the identity of the patient, but unless VT law requires you to, HIPAA doesn't apply to you.

What is ethical often isn't legal, and what is legal often isn't ethical. It may be legal to video this, but that doesn't make it morally right. If it was my mother I would be upset at you for putting the video on KZbin.
