My day 2 for Qijiu week, not based on any prompts, I just wanted to make a Very Very Sad Thing.
I just. have so many feelings about them, mainly I just want to cry. While making this my irls said I need to be kinder to these two. So I made it as sad as possible so I wouldn't be the only one crying. Hope I was successful in that.
Made in the span of 5 days somehow. I really hope yall will like it bc it consumed my life to make it in time :')

I'm not well, I been hurt, I am making a second account to like it. The song just-! It fits to the point it hurt because it's how SJ would feel after everything! Yet, he can't stop himself of caring about YQY! He loves him, but he hates him because he left him alone! He wants him to burn, but the true reality is that he wants to be look back! 'I was there and you wanted to see me, right? I am not just a duty out of pity, those were the others, I was different because you loved me.'

Did not expect to find an amazing Qijiu animatic today. Sobbing at your directing of the frames and the storytelling because it's just so impactful and dramatic. I adore how you drew Shen Jiu! Aaahhh!! This is gorgeous!!! First of all, your art is absolutely stunning, and you managed to convey so much emotion that it genuinely left me feeling sad at the end. I'm in AWE. Second of all, this song is SO perfect. Nothing gets me more excited than seeing an animatic on my KZbin Recommended page for a ship/fandom/character that I love that also has a song I know and love! And honestly, this is just the quintessential Qijiu song, isnt' it? And you executed it so well!! YQY and SJ look like themselves while also keeping true to your style and that's so cool. 🥺🥺 Also not sure if this was purposeful, but the Qiu household burning and the song fit really well, almost giving Shen Jiu a kind of "everything that hurts me, I'll just burn away" theme that is very true to his character. I don't know, I just love love LOVE this animatic, great work!! :D

This is one of my favorite SVSSS antimatics, it portrays SJ's pain and resentment and grief so well and really encapsulates the tragedy of his relationship with YQY. They both ache for the days when they had each other but are certain that there's no way to go back to that, that the other one would never even want to go back to relying on one another. It's a wonderful video, thank you!

how did you pan the camera up at 0:10? I'm trying to animate myself and I'm starting from scratch! if you have any advice please share!

Clip Studio has a camera movement setting that makes it very easy to do, but I've also done it before by moving the frame up little by little so it looks the same, if you don't have a software with that option. In general though, i guess my advice is leave camera movements for last if you're getting started and focus more on character movements, since usually camera is part of the editing and only added in the end of the animation!

Haha thanks for the comment! Though you say it's a joke I was actually planning to make a separate much sadder animatic that did include that and a lot of what happened to them at the end, as a continuation to this! It was more YQY' perspective. But I got burnt out of art for a while. I hope to eventually get to making that though^^
