Burn pits go back to Desert Storm! I had to do it, and I have film pictures!

Me too! I was in the Marines and we had one at an area known as Lonesome Dove. During the air campaign, we raided it for things we could use/make (creature comforts). Also, when we came out of the desert, we were at Ras Al Mishab Airport pulling MP duties. We had to take our trash there!

When I left iraq my unit made us all sign a paper saying we were exposed to a burn pit during the deployment duration and that we were less than 1 mile from the pit.

Lost my Spleen due to possible burn pit exposure on multiple deployments. The Biopsy baffled quite a few labs. I asked my surgeon, Primary care etc if they think my spleen tumor was from burn pit exposure. They said its a good possibility! More to come.

My VA hasn’t allowed me to see your primary care doctor in five years. I get to talk to my primary care Doctor Who is retiring March 28 every six months on video Compton call he promises Consult and medication renewal. I get nothing and then they move on.. when I see him at the beginning of the conference call, I said Doc what happened to all the consult in the med renewals that I asked for then he says I put the consult in Las Vegas VA did nothing about it. Died on the vine 30 days later than I didn’t know that it died because this is when I looked at it, so I’ll put the consul in again just like I have the last six times it’ll die in the wine and you won’t get any medical treatment which is what Las Vegas wants. I said I need to see Angela Pinsky the primary care doctor in my civilian Doctor Who treats all veterans in my area he said I know but I don’t know how to put the consul in, so you’ll never get it. In the meantime I get to die in my home by myself..

My husband recently had a stroke at the age of 58. They can not find a single medical issue that would cause a stroke. He does not have any medical conditions that would cause a stroke. Doctors are baffled. Va had denied the claim connection to buring pits. Any suggestions?

Medical refused to acknowledge and sign off that we were exposed to chemical harm from the Burn Pits in Iraq back in 2008.

In 2007 Balad allowed a pile of trash/junk/metal/whatever piled 50ft high and about 5 acres to burn for over 3 months.

Should an iraq/afghanistan vet be getting their burn pit exposure documented even if they aren’t showing symptoms? I never knew how much it affected people but I know multiple vets my age (30s) with brain tumors and other issues.

I was exposed to lots of toxic stuff from 1984-1989 from a burn pit in the USA. I have respiratory issues that started in 84. And prostrate cancer more current. Any advice how to address this unmentioned burn pit.

My IRB lot was right next to the burn pits on Balad. Often the smoke drifted a mile away to where our GP tents were. I can barrly breath now. Freedom isn't free.
