Being a veteran is very hard. I have MST and deal with trama everyday i now have decided to take a stand with She's a Veteran. A organization dedicated to women of the armed forces. After 15 years I got 50 percent for ptsd but they covered it up until my lawyer got involved and its now ptsd with depression as the nexus but they once agin left out mst. I applealed for increase and back pay done correctly all the way back to 2003. The back paid me 1 year back. We are fixing that

I know this is a year later, how did you get a lawyer to do that? When I left the army in 2003 I got a quick C&P exam that told me I don't qualify for anything even though I had PTSD symptoms and chronic Plantar Faciitis. In 2014 I found out I can still get an investigation into the MST event and it was determined that it happened and all my symptoms are from that and gave me 50% and left it. I can't afford a lawyer, how did you go about getting one? TIA.

I got 70% for depression but I wanted to add a claim for MST because I feel like the depression started with MST in the first place. I never talked about it in service though.

F.Y.I MST is a automatic 100%- this is a fact- I know- I have MST, and my representative was furious that the VA had not rated it before. Thanks to God it was corrected

@@MacNcheese619 This is, unfortunately, not true. I am 70% rated for PTSD due to MST, and though I am currently pursing TDIU on the basis of that rating, it's not yet been granted.

I am a 61 year old I was held down and beaten with a bar of soap in a pillowcase I do not know how many times I was dragged into the shower and they scrub me raw was threatened with my life my life is really complicated so it is going to be a short story. I made it through basic. Where I was gang rapped hung up side down by my ankle,s and was told that if I did or said anything that I would be mad out to be a snitch and if they didn't have the chance to kill me some body else would I went in front of my CO and that was the last thing I remember I have been treated for every thing except MST but I have never field for disability until 7 days ago I feel for all of you God bless all of you .

Sexually assaulted while on active duty by senior NCO resulting in pregnancy. Forced out of service. Later, after enduring 4 years high conflict custody battle with man who assaulted and impregnated me, I was prescribed Ambien for insomnia. Within a week, I sleep drove while under Influence of ambien. Caused me to lose custody of daughter to my assaultor. VA dx chronic PTSD, anxiety disorder and major depressive disorder. Need help.

Not sure I understood correctly. Does the VA automatically (if eligible) categorize a compensation as a PTSD? For example, if I have a 10% ptsd and I get awarded compensation for sexual trauma, does my PTSD rating increase or does it categorize my disability in another category?

I got raped and then pregnant. Then I miscarried and had to have surgery. They knew about the pregnancy but that was hard enough, I didn't even think to mention the rape to them until years later when I got signs of PTSD and anxiety. I'm just hoping I can get help

I put a claim into the VA in April/2019 for PTSD due to MST and inguinal hernia which was repaired and then reopened, haven't heard one word on a decision! Anyone have any ideals as to what is going on!?

I have sexual trauma from the military. I got injuries and the military screwed me around really good. My ass hurts and there is nothing i can do about it.

I am a man who was viciously attacked by a superior and sodomized. I was threatened with my life and career. I DID NOT report it right away, but was medically discharged with depression because of my demeanor. 30 years later I told my PTSD councilor at the VA, and they decided to award me a 30% rating for MST/PTSD. I have been treated now for over 10 years, but the terror in my head continues. Am I being taken advantage of, with the 30% award? Seems like pittance, compared to other Vets that I’ve spoken to. It’s getting worse, and I’m fast approaching 70 years old. The attack happened when I was 18.

@Bob McNelis, I am sorry for all you have been through. If you still need help, look for videos by the law firm of “Hill and Pontin”. They have good advice plus their contact information is in the description section of their videos and they will represent you on a contingency fee basis if you have been denied. In other words, they only get paid 30% of your back pay if you win. You don’t pay anything up front. But I would start with a veteran service organization representative like Disabled American Veterans or VFW and American Legion and get them to help you file your claim. Best wishes to you. I am a veteran. I joined in 1974. I joined the army, I filed 10 years ago, and I was denied. I reported in(1980) immediately after reporting to Headquarters . I Was Within a month, I was transferred to Germany.. I started a went and filed a claim . I told that there was nothing I my file to prove my claim. Fast forward, I am a basket case. Because I still have horrible memories. So, after 30 years, I am fighting back.

@@carolynsimmons3605 keep on filing! Get a rep to help you! I waited almost 30 years, and they gave me shit and a 10% rating! But I got my foot in the door! Now, after 8 years of therapy, I’m at 70%! Do NOT give up!!!
