Do you really think that way? If you do, that's pity. I know Malmsteen for a long time, but for me he's great songwriter, but as guitarist he's not interesting. Blackmore played much less notes with lower speed, but he's still good for me. Malmsteen is just a sportsman. Friedman, Vai and many other guitarist are much better, maybe not so fast at least.

Playing fast doesn't represent skill. If it suits the song, then fair play. The problem is that Yngwie hasn't got this memo since the 90s and just tastelessly plays fast to suit his ego, not the songs. If you want tasteful and fast playing, Nuno and especially Steve Vai win this one hands down

Take out Malmsteen, put someone who can sing and actually knows the words and doesn't butcher the song with unnecessary "shredding" and you've got a cracking performance. Fine way to pay tribute to the band and the guitarist who you owe your entire success to Yngwie!
