Agreed! New film should of never been a re-boot! But, I think it would of been accepted and even welcomed as a new "installment" or Chapter. That's the way I intend to view it as. I suppose it's as if you put everything into your last performance on a given guitar that it would be depressing to attempt reaching that same excellence, so you sacrifice the instrument and give it a public burial or demolition. It's a pagan thing, releasing the instrument's spirit like Ainu people would when sacrificing their bears. Some bands destroy their guitars so they don't have to come back on stage when the set is finished.
