I still do extend my legs a little also in addition to the regular movement..I use it as a stretch for my back and legs....my body loves it but as I said, I've been active all my days and I do more stretches now.

Good video. But I also add the bear crawl variation with butt high in the air. This makes it harder on my shoulders and upper body.

what if you cannot do exercises that require that right angle wrist position? Is there an alternative that still allows the bear crawl?

Why do bear crawls mess up my nervous system to the point I can't sleep at night. The strict slow bear crawls in one direction as shown on this video (I do 30) will cause my nervous system or muscle fibers to scream at me for hours. If I add more variation to the the crawls such as exercises shown on other websites then I am screwed up big time. Any opinions?

@@oldbird299 Yup, at 66 I can feel sleepy and if I do even ten minutes, I get zapped with energy. No caffeine energy. 😉

Try abs stretches after each crawl exercise. Also, if possible always do it in early morning.

I literally just watched a good video explaining how crawling is beneficial in many different ways and how it affects the nervous system. He go's into how it affects the nervous system and gives you sources to back it up. watch the video. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gajOi5t8iZtko80

Do less like maybe 10 & see how you feel. If you feel good than do just 10 for several weeks then progress gradually. If 10 is still giving you fits. Try other easier variations & work upward. Most likely you have degenerate arthritis in the spine like I do. I have to go easy anymore

Only caloric deficit will do that. Exercise can help, but it's primarily what, and how, you eat.

This is how I started my bear crawls. No form, what so ever. I looked really clumsy. I was swaying side to side, falling over, my ass was way up high, my arms were way out in front of me. No form. One year into my journey, my crawls look really good. Nothing like when I first started but I had to start somewhere. After I gained enough strength, my crawls are nearly perfect. Great form and I get lots of strength from this exercise. It's rare to see someone do it perfectly on day one. Just get started the best way you can. ( I used to weigh 392 pounds. 3 years later I weigh 185 and actually have nicely toned muscles. Lost over 200 pounds so I have some experience! LOL). I know my post is a year late but... Hope it's going good for you.
