I'm doing a totally different swap but this video helped a lot. Plans I got for my OBS F-150 👇🏼 -Built 900HP 393 Windsor -67mm Garrett Turbos -Holley Dual Plane EFI -Built 6R80 With Welded AOD/E4OD Bellhousing -6 Lug Hub/Axle Conversion (04-Present F-150) -4.10 Gears -4x4 Conversion -3.25 inch True Dual Straight Pipes -6 inch Tips -TransGo Shift Kit -7600 RPM Rev Limiter -6900 RPM Shift Points -570 RPM Idle -Flowmaster Outlaw Mufflers -Gutted Emissions Catalysts -33 inch BFGs -18x9 inch XD Rims -3 inch Lift Kit -15,000 lbs Gooseneck Hitch -Stretched, Boxed and Plated Frame -Stretched Bed (8 foot to 10 foot stretch) -Bench to Bucket Seat Conversion -Fixed to Adjustable Steering Column Conversion -1999-2007 Super Duty Tow Mirrors -Ranch Hand Brush Guard and Rear Bumper -Marinco Marine Horns And the list can go on for another three miles lmao. And yes, I plan to use it for BOTH work and play. I'm making all that power so why not put it to use on the ranch, eh?

I have used a 6 cyl 1968 glide for 20 years in a 69 nova. 1/8 mile toy. Not a serious drag car. But it runs a 6.87 ET on a small shot of N0S. I replaced the input shaft with a hardened one after a failure. I also replaced something else with a billet piece. It looked like a gear. Been so long I cant remember what it was called. My trans guy suggested it during the initial rebuild. My engine only made around 385 to 395 HP. I also didn't put the juice to it on every pass, not by far. It has held up good in a 3300 lb car. 4.88 gears and a 9 inch converter. I guess you need the extra strength of this bell housing when you bump up the power somewhere above 500HP because thats about what it had with the NOS. Good luck with the build. Thanks for the video. @@Burndown I honestly didn't know that was something we could do ourselves. I thought it was precise machining. I don't think I'll ever have to do it but of I do I know I could diy it.

TEST FIT THIS BEFORE YOU INSTALL IT ON YOUR MOTOR. Mine was contacting the top two bolts on the rear cover and would not fit flush against the block on top in the rear till I ground it gout a bit to clear them. Mine was for a small block and not specifically for an LS so im sure thats why. -Dane

bell need to be notched at top to fit a ls motor

Thanks for the video just cut my bell off it was a mess it made. First sawzall then 4" electric grinder I was picking aluminum out of my hair and cloths for a week. Can't afford straight cut gears right now I probably won't install the trans brake I have some racing 1.76 gears and a pin kit but from what I read if you try to use angle cut gears with a brake it will damage the planetary since the angle gears try to climb out.

Plenty of guys run a brake on the 1:76 gear set. The torque converter will put more pressure on the crank when you make power is what happens. The straight cut gears eliminate that. Also im going to pin a comment on this video too to test fit the belhousing before you install it. Mine hit the top two bolts on the rear cover of my LS and I had to pull the trans back out to grind it out so it would mount flush.
