What happened to the sunset limited? 25 Years Since Sunset Limited Train Derailment On October 9, 1995, the Amtrak Sunset Limited passenger train was derailed at around 1:35 a.m. in a remote desert area approximately 70 miles southwest of Phoenix, Arizona.

Hola nuevamente. Y un poco de historia. ¿En que año se construye esa vía? ¿Que mano de obra humana la construyó? ¿Que transportaban, los trenes, pasajeros o carga? ¿Cuando se dejo de utilizar? Etc etc Gracias.
@archiemoreno7 ай бұрын

Is that the abandoned line west of Phoenix? I think I remember reading about a bridge fire there many years ago. That may be why it was abandoned. The line was only being used by passenger trains and Amtrak didn't want to pay for the repairs. Historically the line to Mesa was a stub line for the farms in the hills. Later it was extended to Phoenix. Tucson was the railroad town, it's much older than phoenix.
@heckelphon7 ай бұрын
The bridge is intact on Google Earth in May 2022, but burned up in March 2023. 33° 5'56.49"N 113° 8'44.14"W It may well be that another bridge also burned.
