With all due respect, I hate when collectors of any kind go to Judge Milan. She really insists she knows how the markets of different collectibles work and she always concludes that people can't get large sums of money for these items. Once, she lowballed a video game collector because she thought it was unbelievable that any of the games would sell for over $100 (little did she know, people commonly sell and BUY 2nd hand games for $300+ if they're rare enough). She does this a lot and it's always unfortunate.

I think it's incredibly weird that we place so much value in terms of money onto a branded product that was made by the same kid in the same sweatshop that only costs a dollar to make it. I can understand sentimental value, but breaking your wallet for a collection item is absurd. Clothes, Games, Phones, digital content. It's all the same, made for a dollar and sold for a million.

And for some reason it always tends to be the same folks that can't pay their bills and are barely getting by paycheck to paycheck. Materialistic people turn my stomach. What's even more telling is that most people know exactly what you just said (same kid, same sweatshop, different label), they just choose to ignore that fact because their desire to "be cool" and keep up with the Jones' overrides any slight empathy they might have had for a child in a foreign country who they'll never lay eyes on. At 60 years old you still walking around talking about you collect sneakers. Should be putting that money in stocks and bonds or in a IRA. 60 year old still wasting his money on clothes and shoes instead of trying to create a piece of generational wealth smh.

None of the things you mentioned are mutually exclusive. He can spend money to collect items that interest him while also investing money. You're making a lot of assumptions. Not everyone has kids either.

@@foreverever9001 Sir ,,no ones peeved the older gentleman has this hobby. But if one becomes obsessed with any "hobby" to the detriment of being a Functioning Grown Ass Adult,,paying your bills, Being prepared for your Senior yrs? THATS when others Raise their eyebrows, lol. Im a old curmudgeonly #NavyVeteranKorea, near 90. Im obsessed with buying Clamps (for woodworking, etc). As Im good at building furniture, other things for folks. My lifelong HOBBY. But even my wife who Adores my building skills? Said ENOUGH ,,buying Clamps. You have 5 or 10 of every size ever made. Youre Not going to build a Castle. I think I have over 1000 clamps, lol. My workshop has them lining the roof rafters. All Things In Moderation.

That's dumb. People collect dolls, cars and all sorts of things. Collecting sneakers is pretty cool 😎

This guy isn't the only person on the planet that has a ton of sneakers. He acts like he's the only one that collects them. There is a guy in Vegas that has a huge shop with thousands of pairs of NEW sneakers that are worth hundreds and thousands of dollars. This guy is so small time.

Has anybody else ever noticed that people who put this much value on the looks of their shoes are not good at money management?
