I wish Platinum Games would develop a new Game. Sequel, Remake,or Reboot, which ever works best.

The rap lyrics are kind of a mystery. Sega has never published what they're actually supposed to be, and you can ask a dozen people what they think they're hearing and you'll get a dozen different answers. I think Marlon Saunders, who later did Knuckles' theme from Sonic Adventure, is performer. He's on twitter, so I should probably ask him what the lyrics actually are (if he even remembers), lol. As for side-content, there are some Burning Rangers references and missions in a few of the PSO/PSO2 games. Anyway, good review! I'll be looking forward to your take on Rodea. :)

hmmm that's an amusing idea actually, I may have to do it. I'm pretty certain of the Wes Crave line though, I can't hear it being anything else, and that was the entire reason I did that segment. It made me giggle.
@ProDaKah6 жыл бұрын
I always heard Wes Crave too - even in 1998, when I didn't know who Wes Craven was! Also, I don't know how much hip hop you've listened to, but lyricists modify names and phrases all the time, so dropping the N from his last name wasn't anything unusual, in context.

I often forget the Saturn even existed. I remember the Master System, Genesis and the Dreamcast, but in between is just a blank for me. This was fun for me to see some Saturn action. Also, terrific thumbnail.
@SnicketySlice7 жыл бұрын
The Saturn was really good if you like arcade-style stuff. I grew up on the Saturn so I might be slightly biased. I know it has a huge fanbase these days, even though the games are super expensive.

God what I wouldn't give for another Burning Rangers. I commented on your NiGHTS video saying that it was another, one of many, franchises forgotten by Sega but it was nice to see it get abit of love Sonic All Star Racing Transformed with a stage inspired by it. Also if there's no chance of a sequel I'd happily take a HD remaster in the same vain as what NiGHTS got
@DemonDethchase6 жыл бұрын
Also Sonic Adventure 1 and 2 seems to borrow quite abit from Burning Rangers like fighting Chaos by the lake with the lille pads being similar to the fish boss. And the space station in SA2 crashing into the planet was also lifted from BR

It's games like Burning Rangers that really make me wish Sega would just release a Saturn Mini and include all their gems from this period of their history. Who knows, with the Game Gear Micro being a thing it doesn't seem so far fetched that they'd release a Saturn Mini. Make it happen Sega!!

Great job Snickety! You know....I can't help but listen to that rap song and think of Persona.

I can't believe I'm about to say this but I think even Lotus Juice is too cool for that rap (I jest, I love Lotus Juice, but he is an adorabley lame rapper at times).

SnicketySlice I’m a huge fan of the Series music. I mean the Persona 4: Dancing All Night was one of my favourite games of 2015. That’s fan dedication right there.

I didn't even know about this game until today after actually listening to the team sonic rangers ost. I saw in the comments of that video and saw somebody say "yall remember the burning rangers game?" I had no idea it was a game. I'm pretty mad I missed it all these years

Always loved this game, from it voice acting (quite good from the time with lots of emotion) to its amazing music and great gameplay. The graphics themselves i think still hold up quite well and it control's great with the 3d pad. I only wish more people knew about this game but they would probably trash it like every other sega title sadly

Since all my Christmas presents usually suck, I bought myself a copy of Phantasy Star Online 1&2 Plus for my GameCube for Christmas. It includes a lot of the download only quests, and not much else, but whatever. It was actually released just to get rid of the dupe glitch anyways. However, there is a quest called Central Dome Fire Swirl that drops you into an entirely new skin of the lobby and plays new music: the Burning Rangers theme on loop. Chris Paton is your quest giver and you have to go down to Ragol with a ranged weapon and shoot out fires while rescuing people by uploading their coordinates. Chris will tell you how much of the fire still needs to be put out and how many people there are to save. It's very retro and fun. Perhaps the best is finding the android character standing there one fire just waiting for you to put him out. It made me search some Burning Rangers videos, and led me back to this one. Hope you had a nice Christmas. Looking forward to your Persona 3 video in the near future. Enjoy your holiday season! Cheers, mate!

I know of this game through their song. But it seems pretty neat. Adding a flight mechanic. Seems a bit more of what I pictured and hoped Nights was.

This is one of my all time favourite games. i'm about to shed a manly tear, because it brings back so many fond memories. I would love it if a current gen version could be made.

Y'know, I've known about this game for years and have heard solid things, but I never looked into it past Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed. This video makes it sound absolutely fantastic. If I had a Saturn (or it had a port), I'd pick this up for sure! Excited to hear what you think about Rodea? I bought it pretty early on just because I _knew_ it'd be super rare, but I didn't feel like hooking up my Wii U's sensor bar again just to play the correct/Wii version.
@SnicketySlice7 жыл бұрын
Yes, Rodea is quite interesting. I love the Wii version but... wow, that Wii U version, holy crap.

I know. I did like that it has PC wallpapers when it was put in a computer. SEGA needs to bring the characters back to at least cameo in others.

Sega has been in a kinda sorta old dormant IP mini revival phase since 2019 (granted a lot of it is outsourced) so maybe we can get another Burning Rangers. Before this video i only knew about the rap but the game looks awesome for the time and i love the concept

SnicketySlice, great review! This dystopian future looks almost as bad as the voice acting in this game. The game looks like it takes place inside the mind of someone who took one too many hallucinogens. I had no idea that Sonic Team had done anything else. That's my fun fact learned for the day. Phantasy Star was for Dreamcast was the game I ever played online. Oh, and that rap is an absolute masterpiece! I, for one, vote for SlicketySlice to do a cover. :)

Burning Rangers shows a near future when Sonic Team is finally exiled into space after years of bad Sonic games. Also Burning Rangers really is a terrible name. If they're firefighters, then burning is the last thing they should be doing! In all seriousness, great review! I actually didn't know Sonic team made any non-Sonic titles.
@SnicketySlice7 жыл бұрын
I thought the same thing, yeah. But it's a cool name so it's all good. Sonic Team have done a lot of non-Sonic games. Chu Chu Rocket, Phantasy Star Online, Samba De Amigo, Billy Hatcher, that Astro Boy game on PS2.
@Zubatticus7 жыл бұрын
SnicketySlice Maybe they should stop making Sonic games, lol
@aarcadee7 жыл бұрын
But Sonic Forces was universally praised, an received 10/10 across the board. The Sonic series is totally in it's prime, and I think it has been ever since Sonic "06 came out. That's considered the best Sonic game of all time. "All of this is based on completely made up statistics, and should not be taken seriously).

SnicketySlice Thank you very much! Very nice of you ^_~. May I ask you something? Do you own a physical copy of the game or are you emulating it? I just had a look on eBay and the prices for the PAL version are, well, on fire (bad pun intended). Should I go for the NTSC-U Version a do the switchless mod for my Saturn? Thank you for your feedback. Cheers.
@SnicketySlice6 жыл бұрын
I own a physical copy and that's where all my footage comes from. Sadly it's really difficult emulating Saturn games. I'm not sure about that mod you're talking about but it might be a good idea as most Saturn games are super expensive these days.
