There are a ton of new legendary weapons, armor and weapon upgrades in the new Burning Shores DLC for Horizon Forbidden West which make up some of the best armor and weapons in the game. We'll also go over how to get brimshine, a new resource you'll need to upgrade your gear and purchase the best weapons and armor with some extra tips and tricks to help you get through the DLC.
Some of this is done through different side quests and side activities but there are also some unmarked, secret side quests you can find as well which involve finding all of the delver trinkets locations or the all new arena.

Thanks to Sony for sending over a free copy of Burning Shores! What do you guys think of the DLC? Imo it was short but insane quality for the price. Some of the craziest boss fights I've seen especially for a DLC.

Am I the only one with a bug? Every time I sheath the weapon, for every reason, climbing, waiting without attacking, picking up plants etc, I can't attack at all until I change weapon, it happens every 3 seconds

The quality great, and I'm impressed with the difficulty of the main encounters. I'm about halfway done and it feels super short though. I straight up exclaimed out loud "nobody wants my help!" when running around the main settlement and seeing no new quest markers after the first couple main quests. I feel like Frozen wilds had a lot more side quests. Where is my "Claws Beneath" optional monster fight? I think Guerilla needs to invest in generative AI to add more quests and fun things to do if it's too much people power to make a fuller game.....

I enjoyed it. I like the final boss fight. I wanted to know how Aloy--with some help from Seyka--was going to take down a Horus. It was pretty cool and different what Guerilla has done up until this point for Horizon.

The Quen Deadeye is easily the best armor in the game if you primarily use bows. Pair it with two Elite Weapon Techniques weaves and you have every concentration skill maxed, every stamina skill maxed, quiet movement and low profile maxed, and Stealth Ranged and Stealth Tear maxed. As far as the negatives you have a -20 to shock and lose out on Valor Surge Master, but I think getting all of the stealth shot and sneaking abilities is worth the trade. It’s perfect for someone like myself who prioritizes hunter and sharpshot bows. You can open with your big sharpshot damage and then go about fighting with your hunter bow, but if you’re not comfortable you can easily disengage and sneak your way back into the fight on your own terms.

Brutal! I love the Nora Lookout, headpiece hidden. It was originally a Gamestop preorder exclusive for Zero Dawn in NA. Having missed out on it in ZD, I'm SO happy they included it in FW, especially with the glamour system.

The reward for the Dino digits side quest should be a dinosaur hat u could put on aloy. Kind of like the alligator hat in metal gear solid.

The building next to the shelter behind the relic ruins near the top there’s an apartment you can go into with another bow. It’s in a legendary chest called the “toy bow” Its exactly as it sounds it’s a purple toy that shoots suction cup arrows with the Sound! I think it’s funny AF to shoot at enemies an have the plop noise go off. 1:34

1:42 finally a legendary drill spike!! about the marker stuff for quests: set them to explorere mode and do not activate missions (they apear yelow if active) instead tag them (stay grey) than you have just a straight line and not the stupid "best rout" that keeps changing while you are moving

In my opinion the Quen Deadeye is the best new armor in Burning Shores. Playing on Ultra Hard I don't see an option outside of Stealth choices because machines literally spot you instantly from huge distances. This armor gives stealth ranged damage, some ranged combat buffs and Stealth. In weave slots I use it to boost traps, but you could do more ranged combat or valor surge buffs if you want. I still don't think it's better than Utaru Winterweave though. Silent Strike overhealing + smoke bomb abuse is just way toooo good. Add the silent strike gain weave to Utaru and Silent Strike does high damage, doubles your health pool and gives you crazy regen on weapon stamina and valor. With smoke bombs you can just keep using it too. Combine this new elite weapon techniques weave, just too good.

For me, the Quen Marine overtakes Nora Thunder Warrior, because it replaces Heavy Weapon Master +2 with Valor Surge Master +2, meaning I can now take off my Valor Surge coil and use something else, as I never needed the Heavy Weapon bonus at all. Exactly the same stats and resistances otherwise, but much better as it frees up a coil slot. I also really do love the Specter Gauntlet, it's so fun to use. It's very unique, and I can see why some maybe don't like it, as it's futuristic tech to Aloy's cave-man sort of fighting loadout, but I think it's really fun. I would have loved a Zenith outfit too.

@@zZiL341yRj736 How is drop shield capacity a better perk? If you ask me Nora Thunder Warrior is the better of the two. Heavy Weapons are common enough that it is not wasted and stealth ranged + is also nice, even if you are not going full stealth. Valor is okay, but you can always get that through food if you want, that is what I do. I find valor to replenish quickly enough normally, so that extra oomph isn't always needed, but is good to have. Of course you could do the same for heavy weapons. All in all I see the two different perks on Nora as good/fine, whereas Quen only gets one.

When legendary weapons and outfits from the dlc are fully upgraded are they more poweful than maxed legendary weapons and outfits from the main campaign?

After playing this game to completion, including the DLC my personal opinion on best gears are as follows: Best Armor Quen Marine - this is a DLC version of Nora Thunder Warrior, however instead of Stealth Ranged+ & Heavy Weapon+, we get Drop Shield Capacity and Valor Surge Master. I personally don't use heavy weapons and stealth ranged is kind of useless after your first hit to an enemy especially in Ultra Hard mode, so the new DLC Quen Marine beats NTW, especially with the Valor Surge Master boost. Armor Weave Mods: Since there are caps to all skills, and this armor maxes most Hunter skills, there are 4 mods that work best according to me for this armor. My Weaves Mods: Melee Dmg+2, Power Attack+2 Other options: Weapon Stamina+2 & Critical Strike+2. If you chose Nora Thunder Warrior, there is also a Valor Surge Master+2 mod Weave that can be obtained in the game. Weapons: Shock Theme - mainly maximizing the new "Machine Grapple Strike" Hunter Bow: Death-Seeker's Shadow - 5xShock Warrior's Bow: Rain of Sparks - 5xImpact Dmg/Concentration Dmg/Agility Dmg (to shoot resonator energy) - Because this build is focused on binding the enemy and then dealing high dmg, Carja's Bane just lost it's use in NG+, as with this bow I had another alternative to bind and slow down the machines. Sharpshot Bow: Gravesinger's Lament - 5xImpact Dmg (for accurate finisher shots) - Iriv's Downfall from NG+ is a good alternative. Shredder Gauntlet 1: Ancestor's Return - 5xShock Shredder Gauntlet 2: Distant Thunder - 5xImpact/Agility/Concentration Dmg Special: Specter Gauntlet - for the high railgun dmg Valor Surge: Radial Blast

The problem is that I'm kinda not incentivised to upgrade any more armor/weapons as I already have the base game 100% completed and by the time I finish upgrading the new weapons/armor I will have already beaten the DLC as well and have no content to really use the upgraded stuff on. They especially made a mistake with locking the new Arena challenges for after you complete the DLC, like what am I really gonna need the rewards for?

It's a music puzzle. To the left of it there are several metal plates on the wall behind blown-out windows. Play Aloy's theme and the box will open.

Skyhammer is a very interesting slingshot. Should be able to ice almost everything. Those resistant can be drenched first prior to freezing. Now THAT'S a focused weapon with a focused purpose.

I just wish I could actually still play it!! My game will not progress past the main quest 'For His Amusement'. It just crashes back to the main PS5 error screen and shows the dreaded CE-108255-1 error code. 😮‍💨😮‍💨 I REALLY hope Guerrilla can patch in a fix soon. It is incredibly frustrating watching everyone else play through this amazing content, and just having to wait and hope for this to be sorted out... 🤦‍♂️

Pull up the data for the machine and identify the weak points. Then work from there. Use elemental arrows on canisters.

HFW did dirty on tripcasters, which used to be my favorite weapon in HZD for a stealth kind of playstyle. Their damage was nerfed to ground in favor of the new trap system. Heck, even spear trap ability does more damage. One of the special ammo type, shield tripwires, even got alternative shield bits which are far superior than shield tripwires, making the tripcasters useless in every aspect

This dlc Is disappointing for the weapons categories. HZD dlc had 3 new machines , 3 new weapon and 3 new powerful bows. This dlc add 1 new weapon, 1 machine that you can fight while using battle tactics. The other 2 I don't think you can enjoy fighting them. Hores is the same as specter prime, you fight him once only. So... I don't recommend paying 20$ for a disappointment

What I hate about forbidden west is that all the machines have surrrealistic movement. The toad from the dlc is just horrendous if you wanna hit the elec canisters on its back. When it jumps at you it slides and turns facing you. There is no such thing as tactic and what the devs wants is for you to max a build and one shot things. I hope the third game will put aloy in a survival state where we have to craft all our weapons ourselves instead of buying and where the machines actually have a purpose in the game world.

What do you mean? We get so much more variety than in HZD, to create a build of your liking. Like last augment is a blessing for knockdowns, if you are not into ropecasters, new bows have cool ammo types and unique perks. If you don't feel the difference, go to very hard/ultra hard and it will all make sense to you
