Status quo. Enterprise and Federation ships have to be the strongest ships to maintain the status quo. Scopley is a marketing firm, not a developer. They don't care if the game is balanced and having the most iconic ship be the most powerful ship is way more important. This is why Sally dwarfs every ship that's below Epic (even after being nerfed once) and the Enterprise and Morale are the meta. If Scopley fixed Nero and Gorkon, both the D4 and Augur would rival or surpass the Enterprise and they can't have that, so they created Lorca and Georgiou to be the fixed Hull Breach and Burning that nobody has maxed or leveled to keep the Enterprise king for most people.

I have been playing around with Georgio, Kumak, and Tyler for my Augur. Seems to be working for most things.

Nero worked before just fine, he was just assumed to not work on the basis that he can't trigger before the obliterator fires in the same round activations.

Honestly I have not tested Nero who is T2 or level 10 for me. I got Georgiou back last Christmas during the special event where you could get all of the Discovery officers with event credits, so I planned for the Augar with her. Just made 34 about a month ago and run 5 and 6 of 10 with Georgiou in the Augar. Note: both 5 and 6 of 10 are Tier 1 too. I have to keep that crew at the ready as folks in my Alliance want my Augar in their armada all the time. So this ship has been awesome for me in this capacity. Augar is T4 with no upgrades. I would think Nero be okay as Rev noted but I have not tried. Also wondering if a Picard/Crusher combo with Georgiou would work? I just unlocked Picard but don't have any of the other next-generation officers.

GG is beter.. she starts at 50%, her stats is lower but the Augur depends on the burning

We mathed this out on discord roughly not too long ago.. didn't exactly agree, but to split the difference I think it was Georgiou is worth about +3 tiers to Nero (so T1 Georgiou or T4 Nero). It will depend and vary though, Nero is better for some obliterator procs and Georgiou for others, but in rough numbers.

Not worth it imo. If you run the numbers a 50% Georgiou will work out closer to 65% average uptime, by adding in Nero as well you'll probably bump that up to about 70% on average.

Important question: Can burning Overlap? (not stack) By this i mean if Gorgeio (or nero) Proc round 1, can it proc again in round 2? ie it is still burning in round 3 I know damage wont stack etc, just want to know if the burn status will stay up.

It can proc, but it will not replace or extend. This is true for all 3 effects. They must expire and then be applied fresh, and this is why Nero is such an unpopular officer generally as he's limited to every other round for abilities that require burn at start of round.

All of the 3 effects do 1 of 2 things. 1) activate their background effect, and 2) provide activation for abilities that require that effect. So with burning you get 1% of the start of combat hull amount removed at the end of the round for each round that burning is in effect and your ships are still alive, as well as any abilities that require burning in order to activate will check for this burn; so the Obliterator will check if burn is in effect in that firing sequence, or Nero's captain maneuver will check if burning is in effect at the start of each round (and with Nero's burn it is applied after the start of the round, so every initial round of applying burn he won't be able to use his own burn).

This loot system on this game sucks, A level 29 player killing level 37 battleship should not be rewarded with blueprints for a level20/22/24 ship it's frustrating as hell and makes me want to drop alliance and go on a rampage. I have enough bps to build twenty kehra, eight Vahklas, four Kumari and what would be the point of any of them🤔

I cannot comment on PG because l do not have her. My Nero is maxed so he has 50% chance of activating burn for 2 rounds when weapon strike hits the hull of opponents ship. He has a chance to activate 4 times non obliterator round and 5 in the obliterator rounds. I have had Nero activate 3 times in round one and if he activates the prior round to the obliterator weapon then the opponents ship must be burning. I felt #RevDeuce that you could of explained the actual mechanism of the Augurs ship ability. It states “when the obliterator weapon is firing on a burning ship, it will boost all weapons by ##% cumulative. How much this is obviously is dependent on Tier, and my Augur is T4 which is 88%. Nero works as he is supposed to do and he only needs to activate prior to the obliterator round and if he does every round prior to the obliterator then you will get that cumulative effect, but if he does not activate any prior round before obliterator beyond round 1 then you lose cumulative growth in weapons. This can easily happen if PG does not activate. The only real advantage PG has that she can activate at the beginning of an obliterator round and it will work. If Nero misses activation in the previous round to the obliterator then the obliterator weapon itself will miss out on a cumulative effect of burning activation. If PG does not activate round 4 and 5 for example, the cumulative effect of weapons growth by burn is lost and has to start again, just like if Nero does not activate in a round prior to obliterator weapon. This is my understanding of the Augurs ship ability.

Pretty sure that you don't lose any of the prior cumulative effect if you miss a round.. and Nero can inflict burn on the obliterator shot and still cause the ship ability to take effect, it just becomes a lower chance at this stage as you only have one shot in which to trigger.

@@johnd5952 done extensive testing and l have lost the cumulative effect of the burn because of what l said, the burn was not triggered prior to obliterator round and the mechanic of the obliterator is that it has to fire and hit a ship that is burning to create the boost in all weapons. It only happens once in a battle but it does happen, the cumulative effect of weapons can be broken if the obliterator does not fire on a burning ship.

Burn that is applied on the obliterator hit does also apply the ship ability for damage bonus, the numbers seen are impossible if this wasn't the case and this has been verified by multiple people now. It's even been proven that you can have burn applied to the opponent using an officer such as Mirek, applying burn after your obliterator has fired (but still within the same firing pair) and you will still see the damage increase from the ship ability. Your extensive testing is incorrect. And it doesn't reset if Obliterator hits without burning in effect. I've again done a test just to confirm. Base line test with no burn sees damage numbers all falling within expected range (64294 - 77153 expected, 64762 - 76869 actual). Second run with same bonus, Nero and 98% ship ability, with burn triggers in rounds 1, 2, 3 and 5 (first phaser turret, so after Obliterator also, so no burn active for the Obliterator in round 5 and according to you will lose the damage bonus from round 2). Testing sees 1st round in expected range (67577-76580), 2nd and 3rd rounds in expected range for +98% (73021-87625 expected, 80453-87415 actual), and 5th-7th rounds seeing actual of 73666-87293, which is only possible if the 98% damage bonus is still in effect (as this exceeds range without the +98%, but fits nicely within the +98% range). I would suggest that you're confusing the natural damage variance of the weapons with a drop in damage bonus, possibly concentrating on the Obliterator weapon which is much harder to gauge by. If you use damage value for the phaser turrets it's easier, as they take the increase in the same round, have many more hits to compare, and have less variance in damage than the obliterator. If you would like I can send you screenshots and spreadsheets over Discord another night (not tonight, it is already time for bed).

Oh, and something else. You've written " I have had Nero activate 3 times in round one and if he activates the prior round to the obliterator weapon then the opponents ship must be burning", technically this is not correct as it's very much possible for Nero to activate in a round and burning to NOT be active in the next round. Unfortunately it's impossible for me to know if you realise this or not, so apologies if you understood this part but I have to go based on what you've written. In reality all of the 3 effects can only be applied if that effect isn't already active. So the old incorrect concern with Nero was actually based on this, with Nero having fair odds of activating burn in all rounds 1-5, which means that burning isn't active at the start of round 5 (because burn in round 4 was already in effect and so it doesn't matter how many times Nero activates, he can't extend or replace the existing burn and instead must wait for round 5 and apply it fresh). Though I proved 6 or 7 months ago that Nero can trigger the ship ability by applying burn in the same shot as the obliterator, so while it's still an issue for officers (and somewhat still for the Augur) it's less of an issue for the Augur ship ability as in your case you would still have a 50% chance on that Obliterator shot of getting the damage increase.

@@johnd5952 l just did solo armada on a level 31 Federation base with my T4 Augur running Kumak as Captain, Vehmet and Nero. All officers maxed rank. I chose Vehmet and Kumak because they don’t boost weapons damage in anyway but provide evidence that burn has been activated. The battle lasted 30 rounds. 1st, l take your point about Nero’s burn going for 2 rounds and if Nero is activated straight after a proceeding round where he has already activated that burn will not activate. In my battle against the station Nero’s burn activated Round 1 and then lasted 2 rounds which is round 2 and 3. Every second round starting with Round 2 without fail Vehmet’s and Kumak’s officer abilities triggered which requires the opponents ship to be burning. The best way to describe weapons growth is like a bull run stock market, over the whole battle growth was continuing but with dips in that growth which includes the criticals that my phasers produced. My obliterator only produced a critical hit in Round 17 and 29, 1.63 mill and 1.74mill. The obliterator in Round 2, 638k, Round 5, 700k, Round 8, 758k, Round 11, 754K, Round 14, 793K, Round 17, 1.63 mill, Round 20, 885K, Round 23, 1 mill, Round 26, 969K and Round 29, 1.743 mill. Every single time when the obliterator round began the opponent was burning yet there was a dip in the obliterator rounds 11 which was less than 8 and round 26 was less than round 23. The growth of all weapons is apparent but there was those dips. No doubt the ship ability works, but the mechanics of it is not as simple as what the ship ability states.

The only problem of Nero over Kirk and Gorkon is that he cant restart his power while its active.

None of them can. The problem is that Kirk is objectively better at starting morale as well as having great morale abilities like Spock or the Enterprise ship ability, and hull breach gets most of it's power from the background effect (bigger crits) and so while start of round is still better it's not junking all initial rounds by default (and gets 1 round uptime extra, which would go a long way to helping Nero out if he got 3 rounds also).

Yes and no, and it's leaning closer to no, for low level players yes it is better but for higher level ones, mitigation is still king and you cannot get that without 5 and 6 of ten, you can run, 5/6/GG on an Augur and yes, it won't deal as much damage as Riker but you will also take less damage on the larger Armadas.
