Trying to swarm kite at 150+ ping is a different beast. When I'm strafing in a circle and see the mobs showing on the right of my screen like in this video, that means I'm about to be stunned etc etc ... It's the size of the pull that does it, it only takes 5% of the mobs being out of sync with the server to ruin the day. Higher ping = less sync. It's not impossible, just much slower since i have to play with higher margins and land the DoT with the mobs outside the screen. It's the reward for living across the pond from the servers =)

Tip: Create a hotkey for ' /hidecorpse all ' and have it bound to a number key. Click it when they start dropping to avoid looting.

Is this even possible at all with the AE nerf? Or is that just in dungeons alone like Chardok?

The AE nerf limits the number of mobs you can AE down at the same time to 25. This nerf isn't as crippling as it sounds... Killing 25 mobs simultaneously will give you a full yellow pip and then some up to lvl 50, and even after 50 it's still a monumental amount of EXP. I usually kite down 20ish at a time because even with a post-2010 PC I still lag up a bit when I gather too many mobs, and lag = death when doing this. The EXP is still insane so no complaints here.

The 25 mob AE nerf isn't a gamestopper. What happens with more is it randomly hits 25 and ignores the rest. It's not the same 25, so the next hit could be the same 25 as last time, 25 new ones, or a mix. It changes each time the same dot hits again or you twist a new dot. This doesn't mean you can't pull more than 25, just that bigger pulls take longer to kill off. Honestly, swarm kiting isn't as easy as some make it look and there are MANY bards who never master it and the risk vs reward is very high/very high with or without the 25 cap. FYI the strafing thing is a must because in EQ your player's hitbox kind of has a tail behind you (makes it if you run from a fight the mobs can smack you easier from behind) and when strafing, you kinda face into the swarm so that hitbox tail sits outside the swarm. Without the strafe, you can't even land chords without getting hit. It's another reason why kiting with selo's and just turning is so hard, not only is everything more hectic and fast paced, but it's easier for mobs to get at your hitbox tail.
