In England, we say that things are getting on top of us. I call it Grains of Sand Syndrome: when you can walk on the sand, it's fine; when it gets round your knees, it's hard; the higher it gets, it paralyses you; when it gets over your head, you drown. Remember, most people have a holiday. Most people use that holiday to rest, recharge and refocus. Use your time in the summer to focus on your family and wellbeing. If you need to do videos, commit to every two weeks so you can do an extra now and again if you feel moved to. We can all cope with you having time to yourself, just so long as we know you're OK. Look after yourself, an empty teapot does not provide tea!! Big love, Gxx

I don’t add comments to YT but I want to make sure you know that you are very valuable. I’m 79, in a new location without friends and having trouble finding creative folks with which to enjoy common interests. I may not comment but I always feel as if we’re having a visit when I watch you. And I love all the inspiration I get from you for new and interesting projects. Find the schedule that works best for you but know there are many of us out here that will follow you no matter when and how much you bring to us. ❤

I'd watch your videos if they only came once a month. Your creativity was just what I needed this summer. I'm a caregiver wife and it's hard to take care of ourselves so we must do what's necessary to keep well. It's not hard to tell that you're a giving person. I'm sure your honesty resonated with hundreds of us.

I understand what you have been through and ask you to please not push too hard. We seldom see how we are doing ourselves and are truly blessed to have other’s in our lives to let us know. Thank you for sharing from the inside. You would be surprised to find that if we were all sitting around a table at the same time (is there a table big enough) that we all suffer a form of burnout. Whether it be feeling isolated, trying to be all things to all our loved ones, being there for our friends, finding time to be creative or try something new. I truly enjoy your YT videos. They give me another path for my love of embroidery and just making things. Personally I find I bamboozle myself with wanting to try too many things. I overload myself but I am aware that time stands still for nobody so I will just keep 'doing'. I feel you need to rest your creative mind and once a month may be a good idea, as others have suggested. This will give you a big breather and all those ideas spinning around endlessly in your creative brain will just stand in line waiting to get out when you are ready. Big hugs and thanks for your inspiration.

Hi Jeri, as others have said, no one can pour from an empty pot…it s hard to get the balance right and it s human to struggle with that. I feel as though I learn that afresh in my own life almost every week! I am glad then that you took a break to tend to yourself and again, as others have said the videos you create are very helpful, inspiring and warm. If one came once a month/ every six weeks that would be okay too! If you took a break for the Summer it s fine, or whatever works for you. That way the flame of creativity is kept live and flourishing for you and then your videos help us all with our creative flames too. Please take whatever time you need and when we see you again then it s wonderful. Love from East Yorkshire UK xxx

Not only have you nothing to feel guilty about, You have given, gifted, so generously of your knowledge, and if you never made another video all would be well. You have done a most awesome and beautiful job on your channel. Be well and happy, thanks again.😘💖

Jeri, Sometimes I think promises are a sincere ideal want to do…we make them without knowing what the future holds…as humans we all make promises we can’t keep… they were sincere and realistic at the time they are made….but we don’t have those magic glasses to see the future!!! As I get closer to the 3/4 of the century mark I will also say as we age things we took in stride on our 50’s don’t always feel the same as they did… there are times we need to readjust (just a tad)….sometimes I wish my brain stop playing tricks on me … all the ideas or things I think I’ll do as I did in my 30-40’s or even younger!!! Okay tangent done🤣🤣 To answer your question… I’m sure that I’ll be here as long as I’m looking at the grass and NOT the roots!!!😂😂😂 have a bright and beautiful day/week/month etc!!!

@@JeriBellini Sounds like a wonderful time! My thought was that it might be good to take a month off during the summer next year with no worries/commitments, but maybe a hi during that time. Enjoy the hustle and bustle of the kids and camp without having to find a quiet time to video. It may be hard for you as you care so much for the fellowship her, but just a thought. It sounds like a wonderful place that you have in the mountain- I can imagine it in winter, sigh, so beautiful. Although every season has it's challenges, doesn't it? I can no longer imagine myself shoveling to get out of the house, 4 and 5' drifts. My challenge this year has been the 110 degree days, trying to keep the hens cool, not to mention me! Whatever you do to keep yourself you, I'll be happy to watch whenever you post.

Jeri, as a well-known people pleaser, who is also isolated most times, the best thing that you can do is follow one of your mentor's Jude Hill. As you have said she stitches like nobody else you have ever seen. You are the same, when you are motivated and inspired your videos are amazing, yes even all the YaYa😊. Balance is the key, when your family come to stay then that is where your attention should be, everyone needs time off. Especially when we are trying to be all things to all people. I would rather see you once every few weeks when inspiration has struck rather than seeing you on this channel weekly and it feeling like a job, you are meant to be retired remember. Yes we all love and support you, and even if just like Jude you send out a quick newsletter with a few pics and a few words like she does, it keeps the connection alive, Im able to comment and see her and that is enough. 10 mins of watching you "pop in" share a little of what your doing or not, is more than enough, anything else is a bonus. YT is so structured, your a free spirit, the connection is more important, as is your health. I heard the hesitation in your voice about doing a FB group 😢 ah been there done that, us artistic folk get tired very quickly when it comes to anything overly structured. The point is unless you have a bf or someone who is happy to do all of that for you, dont worry about it. Not all of us want to share, just yet 😊 Your dots have been and are amazing, so while the camera is off I am still watching your previous videos as I'm sure many are. When I see a newsletter from Jude, I click it immediately, a lot of times she only mentions a few words, and as soon as I go to her shop on her website everything is almost always sold out! As you know her videos are 3 to 4 mins, 10 mins at most but how she inspires me with how much she loves cloth and texture is the highlight for my week. I guess she spends less time on videos and more time creating (hint hint) and that way finds a balance. For me personally, and maybe you should ask your followers, if you were to do up pre maid kits, just small ones 9 patches, with just some fabric and circles, OMG I would be buying them up all the time, knowing we are also supporting you. Something small and achieveable, starting is sometimes the hardest part. And knowing they have come from your stash, created with your hands, it would feel like a gift from a friend. Just an idea as to how to keep some money comming in, but also not putting so much pressure on yourself. Like you, we all get to a burn out period, this is when we know things have to change, you can't be your best self, if this feels like a chore. As introverts, being social is wonderful, butwe also need cave time, just to rest and ground ourselves. Yes of course we will always be here, YT shorts are great at connecting for 30 seconds and then back to your channel or website we go. Your amazing, talented, a wonderful teacher, but its necessary to learn the word No, and how to set boundaries. You are so inspiring, and genuine, thats why we love being part of your community, your only commitment is to yourself, push the "guilt monster" away. We will always be here 🎉, if you can just keep that connection ongoing, even with a newsletter, we know your safe, happy and it allows for you to ground yourself and let your creativity emerge. Time out is the best self care lesson I have ever learnt, we learn by watching you. The only permission you need to step away, is from yourself. We will always ❤ and support you xx Big hugs from 🇦🇺 watching you has helped me more than you will ever know. I still have my little stack of dots next to me that I work on every day, even just ten mins keeps me sane, and that is thanks to you x

Well aren't you wonderful! I was having a bit of an off day today, something came up and your beautiful message came at the exact right minute. I love your idea of small kits. I have SOOOO much stuff I would LOVE to downsize my supplies and it would warm my heart to know people were using some of it. I'll be working on that when the beach season is over. Regarding the FB group, that runs itself! Those people over there are amazing and take VERY good care of me, I can assure you of that! Also also, I do have a newsletter and you can sign up for it here: bit.ly/RecycledParts4ArtNewsletter. Thank you so much for your message! 💜💜💜

I'm sure you'll find the right balance. Perhaps keep your regular KZbin schedule fall through spring and make them more occasional in the summer? Jeri, for what it’s worth (I’m a newish subscriber), I want you to know you were the one who got me into slow stitching! I couldn’t really watch the other videos on KZbin about slow stitching (so many beautiful ones!!!) because I didn’t know what was going on, a lot of them the person doesn’t talk…but your video captivated me because I just enjoyed listening to you talk while I would knit. Over time I started learning what you were doing and low and behold now I have a lovely little set of sashiko thread and I’ve finally got a purpose for all those beautiful old linen scraps I’ve been carting around for years! I’ve made a cute little scrappy quilt and I’m working on a needle case! I love it! And you gave that to me. So don’t worry about making videos on a schedule! Just do them when you feel like it. I feel like you are a friend (I haven’t found any crafty people where I live either) and we can chat when you aren’t so busy. Love and hugs from Florida!

I love it every time I find your videos - and the thing about the um, mature life, we are not 23! We have done it, been there, made this and that and are still loving trying new things. That does NOT mean that all of us can still do it all or even follow along with everything you or anyone else are doing. But having you visit is a charming thing! I love that you are wanting to be connected! Most people do! I love looking forward to seeing you! Seriously though, that obligation bit can burn one out faster than anything else, which defeats the point of it all!

Just remember that there are a huge amount of people that care about you. I don’t know you at all but after watching a couple videos I do know you are a strong person. Give yourself credit. If you have to take a break, do it. Your body tells you what to do. Be nice to you. You deserve kindness. Take care of yourself. ❤️❤️

I hear you and know what you are going through. Now that I am retired, I wanted to give back and do so many things including being kind and helping friends and family. I enjoy this so much as when I was working, I did not have the time. Now I have time but I am overwhelming myself and I know why. Because I feel I am not creating enough. THAT IS MY MEDIATING TIME, and I had ignored that. I needed that me time, so you are right we forget to do what makes us healthy. And YES, PACE YOURSELF and learn to take the time to create and mediate and spend time with just yourself

I’m always learning through experiences in life. Brian and I talk about this all the time. We agree that to try new things is good, if we see it’s not the thing for us we change it. Thinking about doing something and actually doing it can be so different. Like you said, you retired and did more helping others but then lost your you time. Always be willing to make adjustments in your life. My saying about that is… I reserve the right to change my mind. Hugs, 💜💜💜 thanks for your comment!
