West Coast Airdate: December 28, 1950. East Coast Kinescope Debut: January 4, 1951. This is the first show to come from the still under construction CBS Television City in the Fairfax District of Los Angeles, CA. The show was always meant to originate from the West Coast, but none of the studios were ready by October of 1950, so a theatre in New York City was rented for 12 Weeks. This is Hal March's last episode in the role of Harry Morton. (He began the role on the radio series). This was also a one-week rush job to get the Kinescopes processed and express air mailed to the East Coast CBS Stations. The showed aired 3 weeks in a row on the west coast: Dec. 21 (Gracie's Checking Account) Dec. 28 (This Episode) and Jan 4, 1951 (Happy Hmm Hmm) As a result, the 1950 Christmas show was sadly never recorded on Kinescope.

Actually, they staged the show at Columbia Square {KNX} in Hollywood. Televison City wasn't completed until November 1952; by that time, George & Gracie were filming their episodes at General Service Studios.

It is nice to have snippets of The Burns and Allen tv show between the modern day “ads” that yt allows to interrupt what we really want to watch.

This was the final episode to feature Hal March as "Harry Morton". Hal had an opportunity to appear on another TV series, and George graciously gave him his release {eventually, Hal returned to appear as other characters from time to time, through the 1952-'53 season}.

I thought it was funny when that Arther Murray female employee covered her mouth when George and Harry Morton stopped faking being in pain when they both saw her😊.

Great show of its time, love it, just good clean comedy, although the Carnation milk adverts is a bit overwhelming...
