Beautiful shots of this house! I believe the owner has an issue with squatters in it now. It's a shame a lot of these houses were burnt down. I get they represent an imperial dominance, but it was still Irish labour who would have built and maintained them.

I'd highly recommend Terence Dooley's books on the "Big Houses" in Ireland.

I don’t know why the fact that Irish people worked as servants in these houses would be a reason to preserve them. They’re monuments to gross excess in the face of abject poverty. They’re nice to look at and were probably lovely to live in. But what they represent is disgusting.
