The gm alternator on the Ford right there is the problem!:D That and the fuel leaking all over the place. They needed the blocks in the springs because they swapped in the Lincoln 460 and added the plow. That transfercase is a full time 4wd NP203. The NP203 has the range box in front of the case. So either someone converted the hubs to lock out style or they swapped the whole front axle assembly out for one from a part time 4x4 D44. Feel free to send the 300 my way! They are my favorite engine and I've got a small hoard of the 240/300's.
@a105-t5m

50:39 The local guy I took my 1979 F259 with a 460 to in order to get it running (after sitting for 11 years) said he put a 1969 timing chain in it so it made better fuel mileage and more power. I can say, as a kid fresh outta high school, that truck made plenty of power for me to have plenty of fun. He also plugged the emissions stuff on the engine, as it was a California model and had a Catalytic converter on it (apparently the first year those were put on the old Ford truck, but ONLY for the California model in 1979 from what I’ve heard). As it say for over a decade, I just cut the catalytic converters and muffler off, right behind the cab, and ran it like that. Outrageously loud and fun for an 18 year old. Still have the ol’ girl, just need the money to rebuild the engine a couple other minor things.

My dad's 78 had automatics hubs. When it was 20 below and snowing like crazy he would pull over and I would automatically (reluctantly) get out and go lock the hubs. If you didn't grease them every now and then you had to keep a pair of channel locks in the glove compartment to turn them. His had a 400 in it and it was one of this plow trucks. My favorite truck to this day.

Damn thats a cool truck. I love those late 70's fords. I think they look so cool, much better than any modern truck. This truck is a tank definitely worth saving

Had my 350 engine in my 64 C10 catch fire twice . It also took a bit to start it but when it ran it sounded ok but would run hot and some times flood and stall then when you try and start it hot it would catch fire . The engine was put in the truck by previous owner . After a couple fires I went over the engine and found the distributor off 1 tooth . After fixing that problem it ran like a champ .

The bad!!!!Don't rely on tire pressure when under a vehicle. That's gambling with your life. The good!!!! Your video are absolutely awesome I always look forward to them, Especially the 1970 1979 trucks
