If you want to see how good this plant looked just a couple of months ago (December 2019) then take a quick look at my greenhouse tour linked here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/opvXYniFmchsl6s (The part showing my Burrageara starts at 07:55)

Looks like we both are having problems with roots Geoff. You may be right but I don't like plants to be in sphagnum for any length of time. All the plants e.g. Cattleyas, nobiles etc and a host of others which have been in sphagnum plugs will have a host of dead roots in that vicinity after being in there for around 18 months. Keep doing the videos and don't think about ending your channel especially after all the work you have put into it. Ed.

Thanks for the tips Ed I appreciate it. Hopefully the weather will begin to warm up soon and dead root issues will go away for a bit. And re the channel - I'll give it another week! 🤣

Thanks for the informative vid. Just at the right time for me because I've bought two Nelly Isler from Home Base. They were half price. The blooms are over but they look in good condition. I've repotted them in semi-hydro medium. So, fingers crossed.

Glad to be of service! I'm sure they'll be fine. I shouldn't have allowed my temperatures to drop so much but I was watching the pennies I'm afraid. Good luck with yours.

Hi Geoff, I don’t think that is light damage. No direct sun with the bubble wrap. Direct sun in southern climates is not the same as in the north. I was wondering if it was fungal. It will be interesting to see how the new growths come out. More likely cold damage, as others suggested, which does not always show up right away. I hope your plant starts putting out new roots now that it is in a nice new home.

We had a week of clear skies - which meant direct sunlight (which Burrageara don't like - according to online wisdom) coupled with freezing nights, where my I allowed my temperatures to get down to 7°C. So it was one or the other - or both! 😂 Hopefully, it'll recover - it has a new growth which is already moving in a matter of days since it went over to the warm side, so fingers crossed!

Tropical Plants at 53 Degrees 🤞

Maybe time to put shading on Geoff, I did mine last week I cannot afford to allow temps going over 25c with massies, but that leaf marking also resembles cold damage over a long period of time if it is sun damage it happened quite quickly as we’ve only had a couple of days within the last fortnight. Only my opinion buddy happy growing.

You might be right Mick re the cold. I should have left it at 12 but it's costing so much. I put the shade up last week as it got to 25 in there despite only being 7 degrees outside!

If you can, take off the outer most leaf of the new growth because when roots grow, they will have a hard time getting through the leaf and into the media. seeing the plant is so weak. I hope it recovers 🤗

Thanks for the tip Nina, I'll definitely give that a go.
