Burt gives some of the most real interviews out there now, it's refreshing. He talks about Marilyn Monroe as a human being, not as an icon.
@rustyshackleford40766 жыл бұрын
Marilyn is still so mysterious to me. She lived such a tortured life but still managed to be so kind to everyone around her. Even when she made it big and everyone loved her, she still struggled to love herself
@SuperJimJam6 жыл бұрын
it’s because the kindest people have usually suffered the most and don’t want other people to feel like that

She destroyed herself. People can leave show biz, you know. Grace Kelly, Kim Novak both walked away.

You never forget where you come from, and what you've been through! I know she has to be sexually abused when she was young, in foster care. So for me I don't really know why she would of wanted to pose nude! All her nude photos we're the reason why no one took her acting seriously! So that's something I don't understand.

Without serious therapy, I think she would've always been a mess. Always searching for stability in all the wrong places. She needed to be strong enough to stand on her own and sadly, I don't think she was.
@peterwieser46313 жыл бұрын
She was SO bright, but because of her history too much of her self identity was wrapped up in her image. The addictions intensified as she got older ( by artificial Hollywood standards) and had setbacks. She had no financial cushion, underpaid her whole career. The simultaneous professional and personal setbacks with pills doomed her.

I think without his mustache and his younger days he was the spitting image of Marlon Brando without the weird voice. He actually grew his mustache so he wouldn't look like Marlon Brando They had a notorious feud that lasted till the day they died. Marlon Brando hated Burt Reynolds more than the other way around.

+Sweet LilDevil Agreed. She has a kind of charm and it draws a lot of people in. She's often (some people would claim "always") type cast as a dumb blonde but I still loved her in Some like it hot, Gentlemen prefer blondes and How to marry a millionaire.
@coldwinter57105 жыл бұрын
According to a very well known actor, she was a model who was never meant to be an actress. But the bigwigs got a hold of her, used and manipulated her for "their" benefit. Very common with many actresses in those days. She suffered from undiagnosed mental illness, I think bi-polar, was not an intellectual, so was easily turned upside down emotionally. She could be very difficult to work with as a result, but the camera LOVED her. A sad story people will be fascinated by forever.
