Another actor of whom I have heard it said "You never catch him acting" is Trevor Howard. Now that I think about it, his screen presence was very similar to Tracy's.

Mr. Reynolds, your modest admiration for a man who was arguably one of the greatest actors of the 20th century and whose work has given me SO much joy and katharsis throughout my life has raised you so inestimably in my regard that you have brought tears to my eyes. Thank you...( and who else could hold one's attention as he lights up the screen on his own in ' The Old Man and the Sea ' which I saw on television at age of 8 and I could not year my eyes away... Dear God....)

Was watching Father’s Little Dividend & thinking “ i adore these movies (w Father of the Bride) so much - i need to learn more about Spencer Tracy!” How cool to be blessed with a tribute from a life long favorite actor! Even better - over the years, any time i heard Mr Reynolds speak .. he always made sense to me. He sounded like someone i could know, be friends with. Now after hearing him describe his time with Mr Tracy, i *know* I’ll soon be seeing a _LOT_ more of Spencer Tracy! TY FOR POSTING! 🤟🏼💞

Spencer Tracy was one of Stanley Kramer's favorites. They made 4 movies together, and they are all featured in this tribute: "Inherit the Wind" "Judgment at Nuremberg" "It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World" "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner"

I love Burt Reynolds’ show Riverboat, which he mentions a couple of times in this video! I have the DVD set, but I also recently discovered that it’s been posted to KZbin. My favorite episode is S1 Ep 10, “The Faithless,” where Richard Carlson guest-stars as a prisoner who had escaped but was caught and is being transported on the boat. Bethel Leslie plays a young missionary who takes an interest in him. Great drama, very atmospheric.

Hesitate to say this bc it can seem maybe insulting - but _NEVER_ intended. Ok, so i sincerely believe that every movie that i’ve seen Mr Reynolds in - his character always has at least _some_ Burt Reynolds in it. lol luckily for me i’m a life long adoring fan, so i’d look forward to it. & _YES_ i even see “BR” in Deliverance. .. what i’m _trying_ to squeeze out here .. as Mr Reynolds basically says .. Spenser Tracy was exactly opposite of that. He could never be typecast as any individual character - but every completely different role he played - we _completely_ believe it! .. Anyhoo - Mr Reynolds describes his experiences with Mr Tracy & he’s just so honest & self deprecating ab it .. guess that’s why i’m listening to Burt Reynold’s tribute to _his_ hero but imo the hero of this tribute is actually Mr Reynolds! .. TY for POSTING & allowing me to share! .. or _ramble_ is more like it .. but i _do_ feel better now so TYTY AGAIN! 🤟🏼💞

Yes, he was married, had a difficult marriage and children, one was a boy that was Deaf. No divorce, catholic and so on. Two of my favorite actors, but for very different reasons. Tracy was arguably one of the best actors ever. He was a troubled man in private because of his Catholicism (as I am today). His true love was Katherine Hepburn. Had he been allowed to get divorced and marry Ms. Hepburn he may have lived longer. Sadly, most people of religion pick and choose the part's they can adhere to and those they can avoid. Reynolds wasn't the greatest actor, but he was fun. It was sad the way he lived his last years. Burt also failed to marry his true love.
