Would you recommend this board to me? I weigh 150 size 7.5 boot i enjoy free riding carving down the mountain at high speeds and weaving between trees I am concerned the board may be too wide for my boot size. I do not spend a lot of time in the park so I’m not worried about it’s performance there

Awesome review! I snatched a 152 cm one too and cannot wait to ride it this week. Ive been riding Burton Custom and Flight Attendant for 5 years and wanted something in between and on the more medium side of the freeride category. I have been riding the Never Summer Proto Type 2 in between which has been great but need something stiffer and more stable at higher speed so this gives me everything. Also didnt realize we have the same name!! 😀

Just ordered the HTH 160W. 6’1.5” 215lb size 12 boot. Coming from a 2013 Burton Custom 162W Flying V, I am definitely looking forward to what the HTH can do differently than the Flying V. I never felt the Flying V was the right camber for my style of riding and have been putting off getting a new/better board for myself for a very long time.

I'd have gone with the 165w with size 12 and 215 unless you are a total beginner that waist width will be your limit soon + you are quite heavy which also fits 165w
@BENJ0OO
@BENJ0OO Жыл бұрын
@@MoritzPilz I disagree. I have a 165W and am 6'6 240 with a size 14 boot and can really charge on the 165W and have never had problems with booting out. He is going to love that board. Its stable enough and wide enough to handle heavier riders with large feet for sure.
@MoritzPilz

@@BENJ0OO it's all about the perspective.. physics and geometry can't be tricked. hard charging and a decent carve can be 2 different things. Your us14 will be 33.5-34 cm which means a decent carve requires a 27.8-28.3cm ww board. If you don't go low you can't boot out. That's for sure. I'm running 27.5-28 on us13 as sweet spot. 27.0 is ok but I have to throw the brakes a bit. Learned that lesson over the course of 14 boards, my smallest/narrowest was a 26.1

Sick board. Really wanted one last season, but they were all sold out by January. I ended up getting a Libtech Cold Brew instead, based on a couple of videos you put up, actually, and a test ride in February. Very different board, but it fills the same niche for me: groomers, trees, and pow when I can get it.

I’ve had quite a few boards over the years. This is by far my favorite board I’ve ever been on. I’m 5’8” 170lbs with a size 9 boot. I ride the 156 and it couldn’t be more perfect. My first day on it we got 46” storm with in three days. I was super surprised how well it floats. I do feel that the waist width is perfect for my size 9 boots. I’d imagine people with bigger size boots having some drag.

@Deep40000
@Deep40000 Жыл бұрын
Took it a few days ago cruising through almost 2 feet of pow and I think the reference setback stance is perfect. It's set back enough to where you may need to lean just a bit more back but not too much so and I think that gives you a bit more control overall in pow. I wouldn't change the reference stance at all. You could certainly give it more setback though, enough to where you probably wouldn't need to lean back at all even in ultra deep pow!

@@trevorf1838 Basically because I tried the 156 and it is mere 2 mm wider. Also, there is no need to ride a bulkier board than needed. Like I said, been riding wider boards for no reason really, with the only effect of being less nimble and slower edge to edge. Been riding it for 10 days now and no drag-issues what so ever 🙏 And I just look long to for turning on this damn board. It is soo much fun. 158, but that doesn't exist. 156 for tight threes or 160 for more open terrain. The 156 might fold a little bit on you, but the 160 is considerably stiffer so it will be more board to handle for super tight spaces.
@trevorgerland2254

Definitely go with the 160. The HTH is pretty soft between the feet and your size 11’s will steer the 160 very well. Since the HTH has the rocker tip, I think you’ll want the longer camber contact on the 160 than the 156.

The HTH is pretty soft between the feet but stiffed at the tip/tail where the Custom is pretty much the same stiffness throughout the entire board. I just received my HTH, coming from a 2013 Burton Custom Flying V 162W (which is just a TERRIBLE board and I should have gotten the regular camber 10 years ago) , but I was contemplating the Burton Custom 162W. I decided on the HTH for the directional shape (I only ride switch/goofy on cat tracks) and I love to veer off the main path and hit the softer snow/trees. The HTH is quite soft between the feet. You may like that or you may not. I think the Custom would give you more stability at higher speeds, but the HTH just seemed like a more fun board for me. Having now set up my HTH, I definitely think it was the right choice for me, but the Custom is also an amazing choice. I don’t think you can make a wrong decision going with one over the other. Just, please, don’t get the freaking Flying V!
