Chuck Tingle still puts out the weird smut! I subscribe to them on Amazon just so I can get notified of every amazing title they release. Never fails to make me laugh, with my favorites being: "Pounded By The Physical Manifestation Of The Feeling That I Ordered The Wrong Thing Because I Wasn’t Quite Ready When The Waiter Came Over But My Friends Were" "Bisexually Banged By These Sentient Plastic Easter Eggs Who Eat Me Out From Both Sides While Im In A Standing Position Which Is A Pretty Cool Move"

Chuck Tingle is a national treasure. I went to his book event and he had us play an interactive cryptid dating game (The Babadok won, obviously), and then he read reviews and we had to guess if they were goodreads reviews about his book, or letterboxd reviews about movies. It was the most chaotic and unhinged book event I've ever been to and also probably my favorite.

Clicked on this so fast! I love Chuck. It's a delight to follow him on Tumblr, what a fun human being. And he will tell you his tinglers aren't parodies, they're actual art, and I personally don't get it but there's plenty of art I don't understand so it's all chill! I think he mostly objects to being called a parody writer because sincerity and being your authentically weird self is so essential to him. 😎

Uh will absolutely check it out!! Thanks! Two great queer reccs: Autobiogrpahy of Red by Anne Carson - a strange, sad poetic work that turns Heracles and Geryon into queer youth. The Great Believers by Rebecca Makkai - an incredible story about friendship and trauma and art preservation, framed by the AIDS epidemic. The most emotional ending of any book I've ever read. I tear up every time i think of it.

tingle won a freaking Hugo ??
@jonasquinn79772 ай бұрын
IIRC he’s never won but he was one of the finalists in 2016 and 2017, the former as a concerted effort by bigots to push a “joke” book to winning over anything that isn’t written by a straight white man. He of course completely disavowed this movement and made it clear that if he did win as a result he would ask Zoe Quinn, a game developer/writer who had been harassed by several members of that same movement, to accept on his behalf. Though his nominations did get us the masterpieces “Pounded In The Butt By My Hugo Award Loss” and “Pounded In The Butt By My Second Hugo Award Nomination.”

I was so SO fortunate to have an ARC of the audiobook. At first I was a little eye roll about how how over the top it was having been over a lot of this stuff as someone who has immersed themselves in queer media for quite a while now. But as I went along I got into it as a stylistic choice and as someone who is not the world's biggest horror fan I still appreciate it--you're right. As one of those Ace people I don't expect to have massive amounts of rep. We're only a teeny slice of the rainbow. But seeing it used as a superpower literally made me choke up a little. Please note, I was listening at work. 😅 I am so SO delighted to hear it landed so well with you as you have such an influence.

Clive Barker is always making books about commentary on hollywood, like Cold Heart Canyon.
