What’s sad when you think about it is that he probably would’ve done more for the genre if he wasn’t such a bitter person in general. As a daily guitar player of ten years, it blows my mind how creative varg is on the guitar. For him to have had so many years long breaks from the instrument only to have little to no rust on some of the most creative riffs in metal. (Also belus is underrated)

Belus isn't bad but it's pretty generic compared to the creativity Varg had over the years. He said himself that the album was made pretty fast and he sticked with what he knew his biggest audience wanted him to play at that time, because he was just out of jail and needed the money.

I am proud to be human being because of this guy! Actually I am kidding a bit. But what he did for the world as a one man is so fucking admirable. Without him I would die quick and never live. Love his music for many many years now, but I started to undetstand the "lyrics" fully when I realised that time is running out (i am 37 years old now). Fuck the system! I absolutely agree with you, and although I am literally half the age you are now, I have eliminated a lot from my life thanks to Varg.
