I was the Officer in charge of Foreigners Check post from 1978 to 1980.From Kokrajar to Ultapani/Saralpara from Indian side and to Sarbhong on Bhutan Side.From Sarbhong to Ghelephug in Bhutan and enter Deosiri (India side) and Bongaigaon.There used to be heavy human movement on Sundays to Bhutan to have drinks etc and return in the evening.

Nice.i love to travel to lot of places but didn't have opportunity like u guys do . been with lot of culture and diverse friends circle i can understand the way north n north eastern ppl way of living. It's quite natural way they live their traditions n maintain it . As you say about timings can be changed most of ppl living in Assam mostly don't much development compared to any other states..because they are affected by floods .ppl must travel a lot to visit those places so tourism can be developed ppl can gain out of it
