The 4000 Series D60LFs are still in service, as well as the 1000 Series D40LFs. The Nova LFS 6400 Series are also still in service but are close to being reired.

Awesome production you put on here.. I lived up in the midway area for about 7 months.. Wish our transit system down here would pick up some nova buses.. All of the new flyers were retired to make way for the newer gillig buses.. I was also happy to see Flxible buses are being kept in service..

0:40, 1:46, 2:18 - 2:44, 2:52 & 3:41 I'm surprised that Flxible buses were still in service in '09... The last time I saw any Flxibles & RTSes in the Chicago streets was '05. Even then, they were on their way out since '03.

The good old days When Flx's ran the streets along-side RTS's and the LFS 2nd Gens. With the 2nd Gens being retired now, I kind of miss those times.

No. All those units that weren't rehabbed back in 2004 were retired in 2008, and by early 2010, 285 of the 6000 series were in active service. Following that year's round of service cuts, they were parked at the historic Archer Garage that would also be departed from the CTA as part of their service cuts. Six of the 6000s returned to service temporarily that summer (being operated out of the 103rd Garage) to alleviate a fleet shortage. The last few 6000s were withdrawn in November 2011.
