I think the belt knife is the most important especially if you are attacked by a zombie.

@david Evans I agree. If a zombie shows up, I could whittle a baseball bat and then go to town on it.

I made my own belt knife and hook knife...they both go on every trip. The awl is the only missing tool for me unless I take my Leatherman tool.

They’re part of many people’s 5-tool rules, but I don’t always bring them.

You know me. I’d be packing a lot more than 5 items. But I try to assure that each thing I carry has multiple uses. I’m a gear head big time 🐸🍺🔪🔥

They are still Agawa Canyon. Yes, they have a different website with a shorter URL, and yes, they now have a logo that just says AGAWA.

Huh. I just checked the site, and it looks like you’re right. I guess they walked back the branding change they were taking about a year or two back.

I have something to say. I think a 4-inch knife should be in the pack along with the saw and axe, and a belt knife should be around 8-10 inches. I say this because my first knife 🔪 was a Bark River Cub. 5inch blade, Amazing knife still have it. First thing I did was go to the gas station to grab a bundle of wood🪵 so I could start a fire🔥 in my backyard. I failed to baton these thick quarters into kindling and got the knife stuck in the wood. I know! I suck! But most people do. So that's why I say go bigger. I just feel like 4 inch knifes look good on video, but when u get out there, it's best to have something more robust. That's being said. I definitely agree that a 3.5 to 4.5-inch blade is the best for detail work, but it should be accompanied my it's big brother, especially if poppa Axe is staying home. The End

🤔 …what size is a “Bushcraft” size tree? Joking aside I was thinking I don’t even own a spoon carving knife and I’ve never brought an awl, then you mentioned those are 2 tools you don’t generally bring. Its even more reduced when you take a train, right? What gear (tools included) do you ALWAYS have?

Always a belt knife, and axe and a saw. Wool blanket, something to sharpen with, a tarp, Uhm… first aid. Whisky…

I think about this all the time, and this is what I came up with. I've seen guys on KZbin that customize multitools. So I get a leatherman that has a knife, saw, awl, scissors and a file but take out a couple tools like the can opener and screw drivers and add a small hook knife like out of the carving jack multitool. Also, figure out a way to add tweezers and a sowing needle. That would be the best multitool for a bushcrafter. Perfect to carry with ur knife axe and saw. What do you think? Should I commission such a tool?? I'm trying my hardest to type like a smart person, but I know see right threw it 😆 with ur language martial arts 🥋 Question is it Ax or Axe ?🪓
