Great to see you are able to get back out there and make more progress. I think the counter top will be great. I think you could do a fire up there, if you found some really flat rocks that you could put the fire on, they would need to be pretty good sized though. Keep the vids coming.

I like the counter top/work area idea! My boy was 6'5", so I can relate to wanting a work area you can stand up and work at sometimes. I've said it before, any day with a Scrambled O vid is a good day. Especially days like today where we've been having a rain/snow mix off and on. Ya gotta love Spring weather, lol!

Nice counter. You could store firewood under it too. If the support post had a slight V notch cut into it, it would stop it from slipping out on you.

You need a vintage Boy Scout manual from the 50’s or 60’s. They were all about building stuff out of small trees and dead fall. I love the camp. I would build one, but my neighbors might miss their ornamental landscaping...

I once went to Algonquin park about 10 years ago and we stopped at a back country site for the night. There was no wood around and it was dark and rainy and we didn't have any other choice. Someone had built a table like this and we had to take half the wood to get a for going and dry off. We were freezing and wet and our gear was wet too

None of my business, but here's my 2 cent any way. Since your using a tarp ontop of the shelter, you could remove ALOT of the poles on the roof to lessen weight and use them for walls , a bed or what ever. super cool shelf N1

Have been out foraging for shrooms and wild edibles. Need to get out and burn some food over a fire and not just on the wood grill or fire ring/tripod setup.

I appreciate your safety wrt the tool use. Every swing of the hatchet is under control. e.g. @:57, dealing with the oddly placed branch on that log. A more difficult, but much, much, safer approach. ;) Better safety awareness than displayed by many, if not most, KZbin ''bushcrafters'. ;) Plus 8 for creative use of a tripod. ;) Well done.

Your halfway to making a Cherokee kitchen. Boil up some mud to kill the bugs in the soil, mud should be like "wet cement" when you spread it over the sticks. Double it where you plan a fire on top and put a tin cookie sheet from the dollar store under the mud. Make a shallow bowl for the fire to sit in. This is looking like it will be copied by others. Great job.

Hey Bob! That was my original plan after putting the honeysuckle as the top surface I realized it really wasn’t as wide as I had originally hoped so I kind of had to go back to the drawing board. But that’s what I am working on making it a raise cooking platform. At least part of it 😁✌🏼
