Great bit of kit there. Much better than I've seen in most videos. I have the same ferro rod. Best choice for those out there. I'd see if you can pack a bayite striker. Their very small and are really good at throwing sparks. MUCH better than trying to use the back of your knife. I wrapped my lighter in fishing line, tape, and waxed wick cord. The wick will let you save your fuel so you can have an extended flame without using the lighter itself. It's also good as tinder. If you can wrap some tape around some fish hooks, you can have food procurement with a very tiny amount of space and weight. (plus you have the tape for fire starting). You may want to consider a very compact 300mAh/5000mAh usb battery to supplement that headlamp. If you fully charged both, you could be out there for a very long time. For a pocket flashlight, I'd suggest the Nitecore Tip 2 keyring flashlight. Hella bright, very small, magnetic back, USB chargeable, and IP66 waterproof rated. Best flashlight I've ever owned and I've owned a lot of flashlights. I hate those mylar blankets but they're tiny and can work as a rain cover, if nothing else. It should fit. I didn't see any signaling devices in there (I've had about a dozen drinks by now so I could have missed them). I'd suggest a quality mirror and a super compact flat flashlight. A small tube of chapstick would be a good idea (I know, I've suggested a lot of things that may not fit at this point). Not only is it good for your lips, you can extend your tinder with it.

All great points! Bear in mind though that this is just my belt kit and I do have all or most of the functionality and backups you mentioned in my main kit. I do have the striker that came with the ferro rod but using the back of your knife is way more badass 😆 Thanks for watching 😁

It's a great belt kit, just from the rain I suspected that you are for real, but the real tell is that you carry an extra space for collectibles. If I can share my experience, I was also using a thin-ish belt like you do, and once I tried a wider surplus load bearing belt I never looked back. I don't like overly thick battle belts, but the military issued webbing belts are really fine. For molle kits probably the PLCE or US are better, I switched to the german type entirely, but it has unique attachments.

Ain't raining, ain't training! The British Army surplus belts seem quite popular too though I still prefer this smaller setup to carry the essentials and anything else is still easily available in my rucksack. Thanks for watching!

I'm career (or rather was) US Army infantry. I did a lot of overseas cross training. I hate to say it, but I liked our stuff the most. Some of the mountaineering stuff from Switzerland was great for that environment though.

Very nice and simple. To many folks over build belt kits I think. I would suggest adding a bandana. It has many many uses but when carrying cutting tools it can be an emergency compress, a tourniquet etc. Speaking from personal experience.

Another great video, just subscribed on the 10c one. Not trying to blow up your comments SERE is pronounced like you would a steak on both sides. Survive Evade Resist Escape it’s a special school for special people haha anyways take all that and throw into a butt pak (an xxl US military phannie pack) wear it on your hips or as a sling then take out what you need when it’s time to work. Or if you like the woods stealing everything you own a LBV load bearing vest will allow easy mounting/access and save the rubbing rash from your hips when you hit the trails.

Nice micro kit well planned need a small water purifier like one of those sticks and I believe as long as you have the tarp or maybe a Helicon poncho lined

You need a poncho (or two) and/or two construction trash bags for a minimal sleep system! What about a canteen with a nesting canteen cup and stove? Does it rain non-stop year round? You need a real IFAK, especially if you go out alone! A few snacks to keep your energy up because shit happens and things can go downhill very quickly!

What you don't want is having gear affecting your bodily motion and inability to concentrate - for example your Mora knife. I glued 2 pieces of 1/2 inch webbing to my sheath for placing the knifed sheath horizontally on my belt to eliminate any motion affecting my ability to concentrate. Additionally, it is far easier to withdraw the knife from the sheath rather from a vertically placed sheath. Currently I've taken a one inch diameter aluminum tubing and vised and hammered it into an oval shaped 10 inch long compartment. Then I drilled lightening holes in it and then covered it with Wilson tennis wrap. My bushcraft Carona saw is locked inside one end and My Mora knife without sheath sits in the other end ready for mounting on my belt.

@@wildnessoutdoors No, it sits up front on my side for swift knife deployment if needed. The saw blade is inside set in place with bolt and wing nut. I like the fact that I have both knife & saw together. I have the knife blade edge protected with heat moldable plastic when using the saw.

I mainly use them in the woods and they're great. I've used them a few times around the house and garden etc. and they've performed well too. Surprisingly, you can even operate a touchscreen phone with them on too!

I can't thank the British Army enough for teaching me how to put together a 'Patrol Belt' so that I could comfortably and safely hike for a day, with the least weight and volume necessary. Belt-order is a personal puzzle. Ah, the forgotten art of making '58 webbing useful! 🤗
