I love watching the bushcraft videos and normally it's a man who sometimes brings his girlfriend who doesn't really do anything, she's just like.. There... So it's refreshing acutally seeing a woman doing this now and for the people saying she's a sissy and all that.. come on, she even says herself she has a long way with this, but we all started somewhere.. At least she's trying and not like us fat f*** just sitting at home and writing comments ;) Good on you Alexis!

It's your transparency and your sold-out love for bushcraft that makes these videos so enjoyable to watch. There is an inner wilderness knowledge that has become so much a part of you that you handle being in the woods in a way that says you're home. After years of hiking, I'm only just beginning to find that level of comfort. And bushcrafting skills? Let's just say I have a pack heavy with all I need to get along and I hope after watching videos like yours I'll know what to do if real trouble ever comes. But - what I do know is that I have a comfort for watching my story unfold within me when I'm out on the trails. That is what I see in you - a journey unfolding, a story being told - and for some reason, it makes me feel a little more hopeful and stirs up my spirit for the next time I can get a few days in the woods alone. You appreciate the little things like the satisfaction of cooking over coals, lashing together a campsite chair, bringing a fire to life, and discovering who you can be when you step out into the wilderness. Your videos have a unique quality to them and i know people notice it, even on an unconscious level. Great job as always. Sorry for the long rant. Peace!

Alexis, Liked and subscribed. It's going to be fun watching you as you progress with your bushcraft skills and adventures. It's fun and relaxing just to get away and be outdoors doing what you like. The solitude means you enjoy your own company. That's a good thing. I introduced my two girls at a young age to camping and self-reliance. They're grown ladies now and they go hiking and camping in places I wouldn't even go by myself. Keep doing what you're doing. I'm an old man now. So, Don't Blink, life goes faster than you think. Safe adventures to you young lady.

Thanks for making the video. Add one item to your backpack: a ziplock bag with a few dryer sheets in it. One dryer sheet per person per a 24 hour period. Wipe exposed skin occasionally for insect repellent. Works for no-see-ums on up to bigger bugs. I noticed you had a bunch of itches you were plaged with. The dryer sheets will bring that to a minimum. Again, thank you for your videos!

Sure your lashing could use improvement but like you said, it's a journey. Not a race. When knocking of these side branches you could first try using the blunt back of that Estwing and only use the sharp edge for the ones that don't come of to save your edge. Be careful with rocks that have moss on them because they often contain moist. Rocks that have moist in them can explode with higher temperatures. But the outcome of the chair looked great, food looked good and the fire looked good. Happy to see you only made a small cooking fire because that was all you needed. Glad you took time out of your day to make this relaxing video.

Poncho with liner, & hiking boots are for comfort in summer. Heavy jacket with hood is for nights. Light weight tent, back pack, sleeping bag, hammock, fishing rod, lamp, are helpful. Gas stove (?) @@ming549 Lol, obviously I'm here... at this video o.0 It's kind of a figure of speech, a saying. It basically means, "do you even know what you're talking about", are you even an experienced player in this game or are you just judging from some other perspective. Certain things we do with our knives, "is a thing" done without the need or want of judgement from anyone. We could go on and on in a "circular" conversation like this, or you could "see" my point o.0 Try this, do you think that tree's were put here to be made into a chair? No yet they serve that purpose well and who are we to judge? I too am not trying to be rude, only making a point that eludes you, thus hindering a false "timeline"... do you understand?
@ming5495 жыл бұрын
@@themagicdragon2011 I appreciate the response. I've had the good fortune to have been backpacking, bushcrafting or whatever the new jargon is for almost fifty years. Yes I'm old I know that. I come from a generation that lived by two sayings 1. right tool for the right job and 2. better to have it and not need it, then need it and not have it. So what perplexes me is that like Alexis(who makes great videos) , if you are going into the woods and intend to "bushcraft(build your own shelter why would you not simply bring the tools that are design to make that job easier? I think even you would agree that anyone using a axe and saw would accomplish the task much quicker. My knife is a Miemietz. I got it in Germany 45 years ago. I still have it and use it when I go as we use to say "to Ground". I imagine you have wonderful skills with your knife that I will never possess. I don't know how old you are but can you say in 45 years after using your knife in the manner you do you'll still have. Still what I said wasn't an insult, it was a philosophical position on bushcrafting. So let me finish with this final thought - Merry Christmas!

Geoff C: I found it a strange comment to be honest, asking a question of herself then giving a rather defensive answer. The first of her videos I have watched, so perhaps she has been hassled in previous videos. I liked the music, but didn't like sawing the wood whilst propped against her thigh, (an accident waiting to happen). Joe Robinet made a similar 'A' frame bush chair, incorporating a triangular piece of canvas, it might be more comfortable for you. The canvas wraps up small and is easily carried in the backpack. I kept wondering when the tent, or tarp was going to make an appearance. No light to find your way back out. Falling over tree roots in the dark, not such a good idea. A long-sleeved jacket would have helped with the insects. A good vet might have been able to get that steak back on its feet again. 😁 Stay safe and enjoy your self.

Thank you for doing these videos, you have done a remarkable job with them and many are learning from them including this guy. I appreciate greatly your abilities and drive and especially how you find what nature has left there already to incorporate into your projects. Keep up the great works and keep smiling
