Oh no. Hope you were able to save it. Wind took mine a few times. Dings and cracks but still worked, sort of. I was using a wired lav mic and pulled it over a few times as well. Ended up buying a new Canon M50 camera and Rode Wireless Go mic. So happy, Still go to be careful though. Thanks for sharing Jeep

Step two... My favorite saying from Steve Wallis. Loved watching that guy. So sorry about his loss. But that's what I thought of when you said get the camp chair set up. Steve would have said "Step Two" after that.

Steve has a channel that I love to hate. The stuff he does makes me crazy sometimes. But he also make me smile. It was heartbreaking to see the video about his wife. I really felt his pain.

Even with the video incident, this was one of your best videos, Jeep. Hopefully, it will survive.

That's too bad about the camera. Hope it all can be salvaged after drying out.

Wonderful video right up to the camera Jeep, son-of-a-gun! I went over in my kayak once and took out my cell phone and camera before getting watertight cases for them. I hope your lens dries out. Thank you for the wonderful video it made my day! Sincerely, Ossie

That is one thing that scares me. What would happen if I tipped over in the kayak? I have practised a few times but so far have never tipped over by accident. There are times I would lose a lot of gear.
@1o1s1s1i1e2 жыл бұрын
My kayak was a touring kayak and very hard to tip over so I was shocked when it happened! I was going along the bank under some big cedars and seen a big spider web in front of me, I leaned back and to the left to avoid hitting it and it dumped me out! It was eight feet deep and my camera and cellphone were in an easy access net on the dashboard so they didn't go to the bottom but were ruined. After that I used those water-tight cases and attached everything loose with nylon cord.

Good suggestion. You will find out in later videos that is what I ended up buying. It cost me dearly though

What a great time out Jeep. I really like your sleep setup. The AWCC is the best. Sorry about your camera. Hope you can salvage it but your phone still took nice video. Nate

I need to work on better sound from the phone if I use it again.

On the hook at the bottom of the camera stand we can hang a heavy bag with stone in it. Hope the camera was good again.

We have all had our cameras fall over by wind, dogs playing, people stumbling around and you name it. Most viewers have no idea what expenses we go through to make these videos possible. Then top it off with hours and hours of editing not to mention setting up for the shots in the first place. Then many of them feel like they have the right to criticise what we do. Hope your camera dries out but if it doesn't... we'll play tapps for it.

LOL. Thanks Larry. A week in a bag of rice and you can see my wrinkled face again. LOL

You know those silica gel packs that say "do not eat"? Those are designed to absorb moisture. I bet they work better than rice. Maybe they are tasty too!
@EconoChallenge2 жыл бұрын
That is a great suggestion. That is what I did when I got home and those gel packs work great. The lens is no longer fogged.

In my area, if my camera/phone went down like that, I'd blame the Pukwudgies 🤣

Hopefully your camera and lens survives. I know you said the camera is working but it may yet flake out... or not. I dunked one of mine in the lake recording a canoe video a few years back. Not a DSLR or Mirrorless but a compact canmera. However, 2-3 days later it was working but not fully. Couple weeks later it was all good and still works today... Good luck with yours. I now use an inexpensive P&S or one of my GoPros around water... 🙂

Hey jim. It was strange on that day. I dried the camera out for about 2 hours in the Sun and it was working fine. Then the camera body started to malfunction pretty seriously. The lens did not fog over until the next morning. Thankfully all is working now.

Sorry about your camera. Lightweight, quality tripods are quite costly. I understand going for economy. Good luck with the lens!
